it's not an issue as long as there is enough separation (horizontal), it's achieving that separation that causes issues how long to wait and will the DZ do a go around. most major Dz's freefliers get to load the plane first. play with the simulators, you'll see what happens.

A Cobra helicopter practicing auto rotations during a military night training exercise had a problem and landed on the tail rotor, separating the tail boom. Fortunately, it wound up on its skids, sliding down the runway doing 360s in a brilliant shower of sparks. As the Cobra passed the tower, the following exchange was overheard: Tower: "Sir, do you need any assistance?" Cobra: "I don't know, tower. We ain't done crashin' yet." **************** The controller working a busy pattern told the 727 on downwind to make a three-sixty (do a complete circle, usually to provide spacing between aircraft). The pilot of the 727 complained, "Do you know it costs us two thousand dollars to make a three-sixty in this airplane?" Without missing a beat the controller replied, "Roger, give me four thousand dollars worth." *************** A DC-10 had an exceedingly long landing rollout after landing with his approach speed just a little too high. "American 751 Heavy, turn right at the end if able. If not able, take the Guadeloupe exit off of highway 5 back to the airport." ************* Tower: "American 702 heavy, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on 124.7." American 702: "Tower, American 702 heavy switching to Departure...by the way, as we lifted off, we saw some kind of dead animal on the far end of the runway." Tower: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on 124.7...did you copy the report from American?" Continental 635: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff...and yes, we copied American and we've already notified our caterers." *************** A C-141 was preparing for departure from a base in Thule, Greenland and they were waiting for the truck to arrive to pump out the aircraft's sewage holding tank. The Aircraft Commander was in a hurry, but the truck was late in arriving, and the Airman performing the job was extremely slow in getting the tank pumped out. When the Aircraft Commander berated the Airman for his lack of speed and promised to pursue punitive action, the Airman responded: "Sir, I have no stripes, it is 20 below zero, I am stationed in Thule and I am pumping shit out of airplanes. Just what are you planning to do to punish me?"

well, if Sonic is there and involved, SOMEONE will get wet!!!

Mirage G3 is not a copy of the vector 3. IMHO - Javelin has really slick marketing but no real inovation. Mirage has excellent engineering (look at the details) Mircon, nice container Voodoo - haven't looked at one up close, but the moneky claw guys like them
-
no, paraski is an accuracy competition, coupled with a ski race (2 runs standard GS course). typical accuracy canopy approaches (steep and down). However, the sport guys do pretty good also (usually going up hill though).

sleet really hurts, we were training in florida of all places and it looked like it had stopped raining so we were getting ready to jump (no more wet rivers down the side of the plane, we got out, and it was ice! looked over at the Outside guy, one side of him was totally ice covered, pretty funny to look at. We jumped in snow squall at altitude last fall too, (drizzle on the ground), the snow didn't hurt a bit

I haven't heard form Boxman in awhile, is he still hanging out down there? (I guess I shoudl say across as I'm at the other end of route 4)
-
cool, thanks, I may show up. a canopy seminar by TK? that's pretty ironic.
-
what type of meet will it be? layed back, anyone can enter type of thing?

I noticed mine was a little more "lively" during opening. the front riser pressure definately higher, I actaully got mine done before the mass hysteria. so it took like a week. openings were the same (time wise), flare remained the same, as did the other parameters you refered to. I jumped mine in ALL kinds of conditions, and it was/is rock solid (I'm playing with a velocity right now though, so I haven't jumped it since Nov).

those are nice jump planes. there are two sitting right at the airport behind work now (they've been there for a while). The next door down also has a B-17 (24? can't remmeber) they work on every winter, and there has been a DC-3 parked there for the longest time also. then there's the heli's that take off an land on the other side of the building. I dont' go outside at work much, it drives me nuts!

darn, zennie and kelley both beat me to my favorite pointers to the ol' who gets out first argument (BTW, everyone knows it's the local 4way team no matter who is on the plane
-
i believe precisions site has a length on it... I'd look it up but my fingers hurt
-
Keep in mind that Skyventure has two employees that are now jumping on world class 4way teams and skydive U is all about belly flying. you can't do free fly in teh tunnel until you can belly fly in there proficiently.
-
also, SkydiveU has a recognized tunnel AFF program (of course canpoy skills area little lacking

right now southwest is offering Providence - Orlando RT $160. TF Green is easier to get to than Logan, esp if you live west of Bean town.

yes you caught them, we're you below them or ontop of them? if the plane is traveling over the ground slowly (high uppers), you need much more time between groups. Or, if you are learning to sit, you could have zoomed all over the sky, too. We had a newbie sit flier zoom by our 4way last year, she didn't give NEAR enough time. Had another 4way open so close to us, I had to do a rear riser manuver to avoid one. They said they waited till we turned a point before exit -- well we average a little over a second to transition to the next point on exit, so can't use that method either. best to find out whatteh uppers are nad asked a more experienced jumper how much time between groups. Bill Von had a handy quick and dirty way of calculating the time needed, but I can't remember it now. now, back to the regular scheduled program: My pro-track has me at 300+ jumps this year

he didn't want a blanket though.....

I've gotten $162 round trip from MCO to ALB (fl to NY), of course, I want to go the OTHER direction :) for skiing

unless you're the Notre Dame football coach of course....

I believe one of the designers at Precision. I think he knows a little about their canopies
-
you do know you were responding to Chris Martin.... right?

in response to: "Also, a ringed harness will flex in such a way that the silver D ring sticks out, rather than laying flat across the rib cage" not on all harness designs, but a lot of them. The Golden Knights lost 16 way (I think 16 way, might have been 10 way) in 2000 cause one of the guys had his silver handle knocked loose on exit. he put it back in place before they turned any points (must have been 16 way, cause there's no points in 10 way, except the first formation)

try asking Marcus at Pier (www.pierltd.com) -- since he produced it, he may know something... isn't it in the credits at the end, either?
