I am to where I think we should lock down schools, surround them with high cinder block fences topped with razor wire, put armed guards and metal detectors at every entrance, and strip search every kid on arrival. Let’s make obvious what a damn farce the gun laws and culture are in America. Same at every grocery store, concert, and ball game, and especially so at car tracks. Maybe inconveniencing everyone with disrupted personal freedoms and huge tax bills at the sacrifice or more freedom and valuable services will get the point across.

As long as we’re fantasizing, who in rural red state America, where we have a problem with gays, genders, books, liberals and Bud Light but not guns, is going to vote more taxes on themselves to pay for a problem that can be addressed with free hopes and prayers?

It would be nice if a separate fantasy from Russia thread was created for certain posts. Soon the spring offensive will start and what happens will be very interesting. Now the feints are on going for example. The West, I believe, isn't going to let Ukraine attack without the goods. I'm thinking they're not just trained on combined arms with air defense. I think they have aircraft to employ. I think they'll go after a hard target like Tokmak. It would be nice to not have the conversation screwed up by certain agents.

I've posted this before but it's first hand factual so bears repeating. I'm the only person I know who has actually used a gun to capture an asshole in his domicile. The dude came in through a window and I had time to take a 300 Savage off the wall and put one in the chamber before moving to the room he was in and ending the event without firing. The idea that you need a loaded pistol, or any loaded gun for that matter, at the ready is stupidity. If that's your time frame you're already fucked.

1. It's lame to post a link and then run. Try to be better. 2. Most narcotized second amendment AR-15 strokers aren't immediately affected by mass shootings and thus see no reason for change. Of course if your beach home is flooded or suddenly uninsurable or your kids are at school on a day when an AR-15 toting maniac shows up for his moment in the sun even a wrong rightie might be open to conversion. The saying is that all politics are local. The reason, of course, is that so are most narrow, short sighted, opinions. -

If you would read between the lines you'd understand that the point was that stating that increasing immediate costs to individuals, be they Democrats, Independents, Aardvarks, or Mifflin County Gun Toters was likely to directly affect opinions and polls was a silly point. We know that. That's why long term planning that accounts for that inevitability is crucial. Think of it like this: you wouldn't go snipe hunting without your stick and bag, right? Same thing, sort of. -

I really think it's too much to broad brush an entire people as anything. I think that's especially true when calling any group cowards. For example, I am certain my old man would have thought most blacks were cowards until he watched the Red Tails form off his bomber and go through the flack instead of skedaddling like all of the white fighter pilots did.

Accepting that I might not make it past the first round but maybe, along with the new "Light Ban" changes, we could also have as a third leg to the stool a peoples vote. Interesting background you must have, completely knowing the minds of those in the Russian Nuclear force and have such an understanding of the of command and control functions of the launch systems in place. Also interesting is your firm statement that Russians are "cowards at their core".
