  1. I think that's a great analogy. When swooping goes well it's both fun to do and fun to watch. We used to have great times with the pond. The big problem is that it isn't the exact science some will insist. Having multiple dytters set to turn altitudes as a learning tool, for example, seemed a stretch to me especially given the micro climate effect of density altitude at the surface. No matter, it cannot be denied that at the Pro level the participants are true athletes. So there is a real conundrum here.
  2. Another 100 million should be enough of a deterrent to keep China out of Taiwan and Kamala Harris out of the White House, and kids out of grooming school. Like seriously, what is your problem?
  3. Chile? You mean Child as in below the equatorial belt? Time for some man 'splainin, son, or daughter or wino or Don Fernando I'm thinking.
  4. No kidding. My awesome Chief Pilot just bought a new electric BMW. Guess who now has a charging station at his DZ? You'll never be a surfer if you don't chance catching a wave, seems to me. Boats are going the same way with hybrid electric/diesel options available in new builds. I'm already mostly independent with solar and lithium so when retrofit options arrive it'll be hard not to look
  5. Gotta say, you've pinned me to the wall.
  6. Would that mean that half of all truck drivers, and not just in the USA, are out of their depth,?
  7. Well you've got us there, again. Just like driving any kind of vehicle anywhere there are stops, slow downs, diversions, and school zones that slow things down. When it was all about a few Model T's it was no problemo but over time (time is that thing that apparently goes in only one direction but has variable speed) all of that wouldn't do because time was at work doing the time thing and, holy moly, not so suddenly there were so many cars we needed 7-11's and Tim Horton's and and turn outs with toilets. But I digress, for context do you have any data from 2033?
  8. What astonished me below a grand was how fast things were getting bigger.
  9. Former posters? You're too kind. Another facet of the problem is that there are a hell of a lot of dumb and uninformed people in rural America. You know, good folks who think people like Sarah Huckabee-Sanders would make a fine Governor, for example.
  10. Thank you, Brother. I've been weeping to the point of embarrassing my drinking buddies since I hit the send button
  11. You're right, as always. Only an idiot would take Phil seriously, so I'm an idiot. Thankfully he's the only SC posting Canadian I take seriously. Anyway did the Expo's make it to the Stanley Cup this year?
  12. Or maybe read Phil's post and quit posting against America for a while.
  13. Seriously, Ken, as full of contrary analysis and negative opinions as you are maybe you should put more focus on solving your own countries problems. But then that wouldn't give you the same superior feeling, would it?
  14. You should have stopped after the first 8 words. We don't need to hope for an amendment that will never come, we need to pack the SC and use it to reverse Heller and any other jackass interpretation of the second. We need to put giant taxes on guns and especially ammunition the next time we have all three branches after the court is packed. Kieth is a smart guy and a real thought leader on this, and probably a fancy dresser and nifty dancer, too, but I'm also of the mind that responsibility will read regulation and go down in flames
  15. Same with AR-15's you reckon?
  16. I'm reading that it's possible Trump will be slapped with a gag order. Assuming it's legal, and that seems to be the case, and as pleasant as even one hour would be without Trump bloviating wouldn't it be better to bet on him worsening his situation?
  17. And some tall stacks for rolling coal at Libtards. Almost Heaven, West Virginia........
  18. Thanks for the advice but I'm pretty sure I do understand. I keep hearing that 180's are the most dangerous turn of all but it's only from those who think doing big turns is safer. At my DZ we've seen it all from minor scrapes to broken bones and backs to near fatalities to a fatality from jumpers fucking up big turns. And some were damn good at swooping, too. Since we banned anything above 180's (we also have an absolute same landing pattern rule) the scorecard is zero.
  19. That this is not obvious to all at the first glance shows how irrational the "personal responsibility" crowd can be; the same crowd, by the by, who argued against using a Cypres because it might fire during a big turn after a skydive.
  20. That's because in America rural folks have real dogs and make the bastards ride in the back.
  21. We aren't the only civilization to deal with climate change, or the most arrogant.
  22. Any idea how long the Big Fish Hittites were around? For a bonus, where are they now and why? Hint: it's not Jersey Shores.
  23. Yep. Couple of them, labrum repair and a Bankhart lesion. Both completely suck. To be honest I'm not one of those people who follow instructions very well. I did pre hab in a serious way so my re hab was more successful but I probably, depending on who you talk to, went back to jumping early. In retrospect, seeing as I am now in line for a complete replacement I think I made a right call for me. But I'm coming up on 70 now and there were cool, high level, jumps I didn't want to miss. To each their own, as always.
  24. Pretty much we're just fucked as a matter of geography just as we are with our weather problems.
  25. I need a light 4 wheel drive for just in case around the airport. My 15 year old F-150 with a broken windshield and knocking engine works just fine.
