I highly doubt that you have the canopy familiarity yet, or the accuracy to even begin about thinking starting swooping. Just make sure you include me in your will, I can always use more gear. Heavily dittoed! Of all malfunctions, Horseshoes are the only ones that really, really scare me besides violent openings. Congrats on dealing with your malfunction. Now make sure your gear is properly sized for your canopies and watch that closing loop tension!

Looking through the manual, I don't think you can separate them. Either alarms are on or not. If you're wearing it on your wrist, who cares if the freefall alarms are on? You're not going to hear them anyway, at least not unless you're doing BirdMan. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

That's a very good question, Ron. I was an IAD-I for a little over 3 years, but for various reasons I decided to not renew my rating this month. While I certainly haven't lost what I've learned, I decided to remove it from my profile as I no longer have that rating. If I want to chime in on something related to that rating, I still will. Very, very good point. Technique works wonders as well. I can do things at my size (5'8", 240#) that amaze me now, that I couldn't do at 100 jumps that allow me to slow down. i.e., being more relaxed and aware of my body position, flattening out in a way that gives me a good fall rate and still allows me to move where I need to. But a good suit for your build and some coaching will work wonders that you didn't think were possible. Don't give up, this sport has a place in it for anvils like us, too.
