New freefly suit: $250 Lightning pattern on rig: $200 Burning out someones retinas...priceless! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

You just can't make up that kind of comedy, folks. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I believe he's referring to the fact that they need to have the weight unloaded from them before you can release them. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

It's called Dropzone.com, and it seems to work well enough for HH to make a jump every now & then. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I'm sure Missy Nelson has enough skydives to be aware of what's going on during an emergency. But, you can't speculate that the outcome will always be a downplane. Sure, it's something to watch for, especially if one canopy has line twists, but it's far from a given as to it always happening. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Woot! Congrats, Mr. & Mrs. Aggie!

Feh. There's no substitute for a good suede flogger. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

There's precedent...Missy Nelson did it under a wild spin on her Velocity and managed to save her life in the process. Missy Nelson's Hard Cutaway Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Sure, if it's a front-loading washer. Use the delicate cycle, warm water setting, and use Woolite. If you put a rig in a top-loading washing machine, you're going to need a new washing machine. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

If you want to know for sure, hang the canopy up and then take a look at it. If it's a Sabre, it'll be square. If it's a Stiletto, you'll be able to see the taper. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Dammit, Beezy! The Nitro was one of the most fun canopies that I've demoed. Curses on you for not making it in a 170! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Ditto what Lisa stated. A tandem is not just another skydive. There was an incident that happened with a lurker a while back. He collided with the tandem pair and killed his own mother who was the tandem passenger. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

No kidding! I was waiting to see how many were going to fall for it. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Since it's all laser cut, I don't know. Maybe it was a problem for the seamstresses. He had the canopy over his shoulder, walking back from a jump at Quincy (2000, I think) and the PD rep saw him and said, "You! You're the one that ordered that damn canopy! Looks like it was worth it from the air!" Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

The closest you're going to come is a white top & bottom skin with colored ribs. There's a jumper here in OK who has a Stiletto like that, with rainbow-patterned ribs. According to PD, it was an absolute bitch to build, but was worth it when it was done. When the light hits it from the top, it looks just like stained glass. The Glidepath Nova was in production for a number of years, too, as was the Ford Pinto. What's your point? Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Are you kidding?! Chucky, you aren't an old testament guy, you *are* the Old Testament. Just keep your plagues of locusts out of my canopy, m'kay? Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

IIRC, Billvon was on that load. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

This is a very good point, Alana. Keep your shoulders square and eyes on the horizon. If you dip a shoulder or drop a hip during deployment, it's going to get your attention. Also, as a previous poster pointed out, don't use your toggles to right the canopy, after it's open immediately get on the rear risers. You'll be able to correct a lot more quickly, which is vital if you have an off-heading opening in traffic. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Would you let a 13 year old do a tandem?
Kris replied to LawnDart21's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You're preaching to the choir, Bill. The Mullins kids are a great example of how well some kids adapt to the sport. However, we live in an extremely litigious society and there are vultures out there looking for their cut of the legal monetary pie. Mmmm.... I got to jump with Janine, but never got around to trying the cafe. Since Z-Hills will be my new home DZ starting next month, I'll have to try it out. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Are you kidding? There are several reasons not to allow it, the foremost being that a waiver wouldn't apply. Bill Booth has claimed that it will be an underage tandem that does in his company, PD, and Airtec. He's right, since a minor cannot sign away their right to sue, nor can an adult sign away that minor's right in the USA. If Veruca Salt gets injured or killed on her tandem her parents can sue everyone involved, including Cessna and even the people who provided fuel for the damn plane. In addition to letting the canopy spread more, longer risers will also increase the recovery arc on a canopy. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

The nano doesn't suffer from altitude or shock effects because it doesn't use a hard drive, it uses flash memory. That having been said though, you have no business listening to it in freefall or under canopy. Fun for the ride up, but that's about it. At 24 jumps you don't need that kind of distraction. Hell, I don't need it at almost 500 jumps, although I've taken my iPod on a couple of cross country jumps. It was cute for awhile, but I just don't get that bored under canopy that I need to bring along music. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Damn... I got some good breakfast at that cafe a few times. Good coffee, too. You guys never had decent bunkrooms to begin with though. I always crashed in the packing room or in my car. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
