Not necessarily true. There were bad batches of Gelvenor fabric that caused problems for manufacturers that used them (such as Aerodyne back in the day and PISA). Around $250 is what I paid for a new cell, reline, and a slider after my Stiletto blew up a couple of years back. I think the cell replacement on its own from PD was around $189 at the time. They basically let me have everything for 1/2 price as mine was a manufacturing defect that didn't show up until I had around 250 jumps on my canopy. Same here. I can cat nap anywhere, any time for a few mins and feel nice & refreshed. However, when I sleep at night, I do like to have it dark & quiet, and then it takes 3 alarm clocks to get me up in the morning. The first time my wife spent the night at my place, I thought I was going to have to peel her off the ceiling when the alarms went off. Well, the Collins lanyard definitely makes it a much safer implementation, especially in the case of only the RSL-side riser releasing. You can't do that with just a piezo pressure sensor and a timer. You'd need a gyroscope or something that provides inertial reference. Now you're getting into a very expensive area, and something that's going to be more complicated and require more maintenance. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Besides the fact they both use parachutes, there's no comparison. Baseball and Cricket both use bats, but they're two different sports.
