I don't own any weapons either, but I'd be real concerned if someone came door-to-door to take them away from my neighbors. While I don't LIKE guns, and think that many people use them irresponsibly, I have to come up on the side of protecting my constitutional rights. To me it's the same as my right to protest on public property. I usually fall a little left of center, but this time I just think all my anti-gun friends are WRONG. The fact that we're debating this shows me that whether you agree with a particular protest or not, these protests in Portland have accomplished a good deal in pushing people to examine the relative importance of our Constitutional rights. Hey fff....you're right. If you have Type II Diabetes, it can probably be controlled with diet and exercize. I believe your doctors are telling you frightening things because the consequences of diabetes are HUGE!!!! The effects on the body's blood vessels produce dramatic problems in the peripheral circulation, the kidneys, the heart, the eyes, the nervous system, the immune system. On the average, diabetes takes about 15 years off a person's life. On the brighter side....Type II diabetes is usually very workable, and can be reversed with diet and exercize...usually a weight loss on only about 5-10%, unless a person is really obese. The problem is that many people don't take it as seriously as they should. So....many docs will resort to scare tactics. I personally think that a little education goes a very long way. No Doubt, Lisa!!! Of course my child is only 6 (maybe I'm over-reacting a little....lol), but I've definately thought about how I'll feel if someone decides it's time to put my child's life at risk in a few years over something that we, in my family, are 100% against.... On my one visit to Emerald Coast last year, I had a really good time. Got to do some good RW with some REALLY friendly folks who let me crash their dives even though they didn't know whothehell I was. The landing area is HUGE and flat. I like that, personally. I REALLY want to go back there and stay longer, because my first impression is that it's an AWESOME dz!
