Well, I have a huge crush on Clownburner, but he already knows that.

In some jurisdictions, just the presence of the intruder inside your home can give you self defense privilege. In other jurisdictions, they must be directly threatening your life. Depends on the area.

when I bought my canopy, I'd have been really pissed if the seller hadn't told me it was in need of a reline. If I'd sold my other main, planning on jumping this one, and then had to send it to PD for six weeks (that's how long it's been gone), that'd really tick me off. Best to be honest with your buyers.

Not much MSG. MSG gives me bad headaches, so I have to check labels. Whole Foods and Henry's Markets are also good places.

100 jump wonder means someone who only has 100 jumps and thinks they know everything...

TO ALL: Marines, Soldiers, Airman, and Seamen

soldiers don't have all the information that the leaders do. they have to trust that their COs are making the right calls. -

the troops go where they're ordered to go. If you have a problem with what the military is doing, look to its leaders, not its troops. -
would you be happier if the robber had shot the guy's wife?? Weapons ARE tools, but they are tools to be used for a specific purpose, not for every-day situations. You wouldn't use a chain saw to slice carrots, would you?

Those cases are all fake. They're urban legends. I looked them up in two legal databases and came up with nothing, and breakthechain.com says http://www.breakthechain.org/exclusives/lawsuits.html Snopes agrees. http://www.snopes.com/legal/lawsuits.asp There's so many crazy lawsuits out there. I wonder why people feel the need to make some up.

I've always been the only female of my rank in whatever school I've been training at. When I first started, there were no females under the rank of black belt in my school (and only one female black belt). As I progressed, a few more girls started, but by that point I outranked them. Then, I switched to a school where I was the only female. I'd moved and it was close to my house. The school I train at now has a couple of girls in the kids class, one adult female white belt, me, and a female black belt who doesn't show up very often. Probably because I'd been training since I was ten years old, I'd never really thought about whether I was training with males or females. When the ref says "fight", they're just another body in the ring.

Nothing wrong with carrying something that's too heavy for someone else.

Thanks to everyone who serves in the military, and I pray that the powers that be guide their leaders to make wise choices. -
Have you ever done a few base jumps then said..
Nightingale replied to cocheese's topic in The Bonfire
Ditto. I went to skydiving websites and saw pretty pictures of formations. I went to BASE websites and saw pelvis and femur x-rays. That kinda made up my mind. -
good idea in theory, but probably wouldn't work in practice, because you'd have people clicking on posts because they disagreed with them.

LOL! I guess "do you know where you would go if you died today?" is one of their stock questions. I'd answered the door on thanksgiving a few years ago with a rather large kitchen knife in my hand (was cutting up turkey and just didn't put it down). So, I looked at the knife, and back to the JWs and replied "yes...do you?" they left. quickly. edited for spelling

chest strap. mainly because you'll notice if your legstraps aren't tightened, but the rig doesn't feel too much different without the chest strap fastened.

I was jumping a 260 when I tried to do front riser turns. I did a full one handed pull-up while gripping the riser, and the canopy barely moved!
-
it isn't necessiarily the size of the canopy that gives a performance increase. A lot of it has to do with the skill of the pilot. What will your wingloading be on the new canopy, and have you taken a canopy class?
-
I bought a canopy that was in need of a reline. The price of the canopy reflected the cost of the reline as well as the inconvenience on the purchaser for just getting a canopy and having to send it in for a reline.

ok. I've already got the fluorescent bulbs. I'll stick with those.
