  1. I was in New Orleans last year and got bit by misquitos and was sick when I came home, think I had West Nile virus. But got over it. I think it only really effects old people. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  2. WTF are you talking about Frenchy? Did you ever hook up with Dan? I think he was just your type
  3. I am so sorry for you and your friends. You need to do what is best for you now. I hope that God will give you the strength to help your friends and keep on jumping.
  4. Update: Got up the nerve to tell my mom I wasn't attending church. My mom just said "well, our pastor said that when you go to heaven you'll recognize everyone you know who made it to heaven, but you won't remember those who didn't make it. I said " well thats good, then you won't be missing them". She said "yes, but I hate to think of one of my kids in hell" (obviously me for not attending church), So of course I felt guilty for making my mom worry. So I attended church with my parents. They were very happy. I had a feeling I'd cave in - I hate to disappointment my parents. And it was pretty overcast in SD that day. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  5. Good news. The bird is still alive. I'm so hoping she makes it to the morning so I can take her to the vet and get her treated. My husband (asshole) is already complaining about what it will cost to take her to the vet. I told him just look at her, but he won't look at her. If he would he would understand my compassion. 6. I got it away from her. It was bleeding and couldn't fly. Looks like it's wing is broken. I called the vet - not in on Sunday. Called the Wild Life Way Station (where we had taken a bird before) no answer. Decided to drive the bird to the wild life way station. Got there and was told they hadn't taken in birds for over two years. They gave me the address and phone no. of a place that takes birds, but the address didn't register in my navigation system and the phone no. they gave me didn't answer. So brought the bird back home and gave her water and if she survives the night I'll take her to the vet in the morning. I'm so depressed. But my husband (asshole) said what's the big deal, it's just a bird. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  7. I totally missed this thread. I just checked my calendar and have nothing planned for that weeked so I'm going to plan to be there
  8. Did everyone at your office go off and leave you alone too?
  9. I think you are being unrealistic. Walt I think you are right

  11. No, that's what is really sad is that he didn't die - but spent his life with a withered body unable to fly Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  12. LOL. Think a little more explanation is needed. My parents just recently started going to church with my sister and now they are born again Christians and very into church, bible study, prayer groups, etc. Last time I visited my parents I went to church with them (then a church picnic, then a church concert - the whole day was spent with church stuff). I think it's great for them but it just wasn't my thing (I'm Catholic and attend mass on special occasions). I will be visiting my parents and spending time outside of church with them. But now my mom expects me to attend church with them and while I enjoy being with my parents, I'd like to skip the church part (the service is like 2 hrs.) and head to the DZ without feeling guilty about it. 13. A friend e-mailed this to me and I thought it was worth sharing.
  14. Hey thanks! Thought I'd get people saying I should attend church with my parents, but instead people agreed with me. Should have known skydivers would see it my way. Have fun everyone skydiving, I will. And remember to give thanks for successful skydives

    finally

Great pics. Your daughters are so cute. Deuce, do they have the X ride there? If they do you have to ride it. I love all rollercoasters but almost peed my pants on X (six flags valencia). If they have it do it and let me know how you did . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  17. Posting this just to get peoples opinions about attending church on Sundays vs. skydiving on Sundays. I will be spending the weekend with my parents, but will tell them that I feel much closer to God skydiving than attending church with them. I think they will understand. And that is how I really feel. I could sit in church with my parents and listen to the pastor preach, or I can go out and experience my kind of religion, I feel so close to God when skydiving, much more than could be expressed in a church. Anyone else feel the same way? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  18. Try to get there early in the morning before the temperature heats up. But even if you are there later although the tunnel might be warm you will be so busy concentrating on what you're doing that you won't really notice it that much. And ask for Keith Fields, tunnel instructor there for many years and now the tunnel owner. He is awesome. He got me through my lever 3. I probably wouldn't still be skydiving today if not for Keith. He's awesome. Good luck and have fun!!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  19. I have a visual and an audible altimeter, but I've noticed that a lot of the coaches I've jumped with didn't have a visual altimeter. Guess it's something you learn from experience. Since I don't have that much experience I like to have both. I usually don't look at my visual altimeter until after canopy. Then I use it to help land. But I did learn I could land without it when one day I looked down at my altimeter under canopy and the insides were gone (it was my first altimeter that I bought on e-bay). But until I get more experience I prefer to use both. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  20. Definitely come for Chick's Rock. It's an awesome party . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  21. I am either at Perris or Elsinore. I try to rotate, do a weekend at Perris, a weekend at Elsinore. So I will probably be there one of the weekends you are. Look for me at the packing area just outside of Square One. Say hi and jump with us!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  22. What are you, a meterologist??? When I read the title of your thread I wanted to post that at least you made it to Rantoul, unlike some of us who were on a stupid Panama Canal vacation . Your thread was interesting to read though
  23. Cool that your TiVo picked up on it. The only thing our TiVo records on it's own is stupid golf tournaments . I did find the movie on Amazon. Not too expensive, and it's a pretty cool movie
