Heheheh... I wonder what kind of reaction you get when people see you pulling on the rubber gloves before going on the plane... One word: COLLEGIATES!!!! Blues, squares, PTiger

Last weekend at the DZ, most of the Quincy stories I heard were about the Rodriguez Brothers (lots of them at my DZ) and their golf-cart misadventures - there were almost NO jump stories. Blues, squares, PTiger

Inching ever closer to my A license!! Jumps are tough to come by lately, due to a lack of King Airs and moxie. Got 2 yesterday - see the "hoping hoping" thread. If the server decides not to crash at work tomorrow, I might be able to post a full accounting of the weekend. I'm thinking I'll be at X-Keys for Sunday and Monday of the Labor Day boogie, though I might not have my A-license finished by then. Here's hoping, anyway. Glad to see you back on the boards, and thanks for the stories!! Blues, squares, PTiger

0:2:2 Thanks for the support everyone. I only got 2 jumps yesterday due to a 3-hour pilot hold ("Does anyone know anyone who can fly a Cessna!?!") and a 2-hour weather hold, but I still accomplished a few things and learned a few things. Firsts: 1. C-182 jump 2. Jump on my own packjob 3. Jump on my own spot 4. Hop and pop (same jump as #2 and #3, only 1 case owed) Lessons: 1. Just because the more experienced jumpers on the load do something does not mean I should do it too - I have to have a Good Reason™ for doing it. 2. When there is no wind, your landing pattern will take you much farther on final than you think. In the end tho, I think the biggest victory wasn't avoiding those trees and powerlines (I had a good 30 feet to spare when I slid to a stop) - it was jumping my first unsupervised packjob on my first hop and pop and not chickening out with fear that I'd have my first mal too.

Most people I've heard from go naked if the jump number ends in 00. We had someone doing his 500th on the sunset load Sunday and he left his clothes in the plane. Blues, squares, PTiger

It's going to be a GOOD DAY, dammit!! Yesterday I got down to the DZ and the thunderstorms that had been just sitting on their ass all morning rolled across the DZ as I was gearing up for load 3. On top of that, the King Air was gone for maintenance so we were flying the Cessna. Urrrgggggggghhhh - must get 8 jumps this week!!! Passed the written test already, only need the numbers for my A license (which I need to get before I go back to school at the end of the month). Wish me luck. Blues, squares, PTiger

Just ask the guy next to you for the answers on the test, and if he starts spouting some bs about cheating KICK HIM IN TEH[sic] NUTS. HOORJ!! Blues, squares, PTiger

I think their sponsorship numbers are low because people who actually demonstrate the CYPRES in action aren't very good role models. Blues, squares, PTiger
