It looks like I may actually be able to join in tonight! Is it in the Pub, only on IRC, or on someone else's website? I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

I'm gonna side with Chuck on this one. If you look at DZ.com, we've got extensive safety, gear, and technique information, and if we don't already have the specific info someone is looking for, we do have regular members who can answer those types of questions. In other words, we either have what you need to know, or can hook you up with the people who do. I don't know of any site that performs the same function for swooping or otherbleading-edge activities in skydiving, and I think if HH applied his talents to the task a lot of people would benefit. I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

I think he's looking for stuff that you don't have to stretch at all. I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

Ah yes, the American Beer™ maneuver. It gets the name because the sex and the beer are both 'fucking close to water.' I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

hah, if it was really 14 in a single year, I'd be REALLY far behind. I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

*golf clap* Well struck, sir! I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

Now this is something to be proud of. Americans get more sex than any other nation. I await snide comments from everyone, especially Clay and April Nicole. Note to self: 14 partners!? Better get busy. I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

No relation to any celebrities, but if you want to play "6 Degrees of Separation," I've got some pretty eye-popping connections within 3 hops. I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

I agree w/ watcher that television audiences generally prefer Air Raid-style offenses, and that's why Miami-Florida will be better for the advertisers. But even though I have a vested interest in UF being in the Rose Bowl*, I don't think it's better football. I guarantee that a few major upsets each year will be ground-attack teams devouring the clock and keeping Air-Raid offenses off the field. I gotta side with AggieDave on preferred football style here. To me, the perfect play is a 240-pound fullback muscling past the defensive line, steamrolling a linebacker, seeing nothing but a 180-pound safety between him and the goal line.... and PLANTING that safety into the ground with a stiffarm as he rumbles for the touchdown. (EDIT: as pictured here and here, with an enlargement here. < !!

HH, I second the idea. (just to be picky, Addict is 700 and Veteran is 1000.) No time to write this week, but mebbe next week I'll whip something up... I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

Agreed. Though I haven't tried many gear stores so I don't have much to compare it to, SkyKat was extremely tolerant of my dumb and repeated questions. They also beat every other price on a CYPRES by $50, and the unit they were selling had its 4-year and new batteries less than a year ago, whereas most of the other units in that price and age range were coming close to needing another factory check and new batteries. I had zero problems with them and would immediately recommend them to anyone else. I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit. >< !!

ah, thanks for clearing that up. Makes me more wary of giving that proxy.... but hell, at some point you have to realize you can't spend as much time thinking about those issues as they do, and that you've got to trust your officials.
-
I'm not trying to start a flame war here or anything, just a quick question. I'm about to send mine in. As I understand it, the changes that they now need proxy votes to make are changes the board previously did on its own, but now that they've had a lawyer look over NY state law governing non-profits, those old procedures aren't legal. Is that accurate, or are the changes things the board hasn't done on it's own before?

Glad to hear that you can actually wear your rig on without getting hassled!!! Since you went w/ the rig over the laptop b/c of the dream... did you fasten your legstraps and ask your neighbor for a pincheck?

I dig the idea of a playoff. I-AA does it, so you know it doesn't kill their ability to study for exams, etc. I like the BCS because it's a very broad-based assessment of a team's quality. Polls are screwy because a late loss to a good team hurts more than an early loss to a mediocre team. Computers are screwy because in the end, they're just one person's opinion of what constitutes a good football team. (we only call them computer rankings rather than "Jeff Sagarin's personal poll" because computers can make repetitive boring calculations a lot more quickly and accurately than humans.) Schedule strength is screwy because you often end up with a great team in a mediocre conference. But when you combine all three, any quirks tend to sort themselves out. So how about a playoff that uses the BCS formula, or something close to it, to determine seedings?
-
To adapt Churchill: "The BCS is the worst system for determining who gets to play in the championship game, with the exception of every other system that's been tried."

Damn. A parking lot. There's just no chance at all there. Blues forever.

You think YOUR jump pilot brings it in hot...

So, yeah, I found these pictures and frankly if I was on a jumbo that came at the airport at a 45-degree angle, I would be pissing myself. The beach approaches are kinda cool though, I've seen a few pics of Otter pilots doing flybys, but those definitely take the cake. http://www.aviationpics.de/app/app.htm PS What does NCA stand for? Non-???? Approach...? -
F*k(sorryMrs. Radloff) it all to hell and back!

Ugh. FUCK Clear Channel. I thought anything would be better than the local Urban station buying out the rock station and turning it from a Danzig-infused mosh-fest into a Matchbox 20-dominated "let's target the 25-45 female demographic" mush-fest. But then Clear Channel bought them out, and now it's nothing but talentless, suicidal goons screaming into the microphone about their heroin habits. 21 isn't too young to say "back in my day...", is it? -
So if someone, er, hypothetically of course, were to visit the dropzone on his, er HER. Yes, we're talking about a HER, I swear! Anyway, hypothetically of course, if she were to visit on her birthday, would you pie her?

I saw some really spectacular meteors when I was out from 1-2, and they were coming more often as I headed in. Great show.

3M TA3 is funny, without a doubt..... but the attachment is classic!

Fucking freshmen. They never know what's going on. PT

I can understand that. Wait, no, I can't. I can understand not following some sports, but if you can't have fun when there are 85,000 like-minded folks roaring their enthusiasm, you must be ... um... a singular person. Hey, and if you're implying that I shoulda been skydiving today... you're right. But I've grounded myself until I can pull my grades up.

Come on Clay, if you're gonna spam at least have it make sense.
