  1. Student asking to AFF isnstructor during boarding: So do I have to pull when the arrow shows 0? No joke, really saw it. (student did not board the airplane after that) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  2. That is exactely the problem with the vigil. A lot of effort on the commercial side instead of the technical problems Tom, Kijk even op de onderstaande website of open de attachment http://dfv.sci-network.net/ groeten Ton ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  5. Met deze "THREAD" bedoel ik discussie, niet gevaar I'm sorry for you but I jump mostly in germany. With a vigil eguipped rig I would be GROUNDED right now, for technical reasons. For your information, In the beginning of this year I did a little investigation for a DZ which had to buy a couple of new AAD's. The answers I got from your company really scared me. No technical answers, only commercial. Like Q: Did you use aerospace-approved components: A: You do not want to pay the price of those components. Q: Which aerospace spec did you use to qualify the unit: A: We did some automotive tests Note: The automotive environment is much less severe than the aerospace environment. (I say this as an aerospace engineer) Uptill now I gave the DZ the right decision, concidering the "static-electricity" issue (No aerospace specs required for qualification?) and lately the grounding due to technical problems. In germany all aerospace equipment shall comply to certain technical rules. This will be judged pure technical. By the way do Sweden and Austria allow the vigil? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  6. For myself there are 2 alternatives: Cypres 1 Cypres 2 The rest I consider as shit, including the vigil which has been grounded 2 weeks ago in germany ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  7. Do it sometimes, just to keep feeling with the higher speed. For me it's the same as pulling the secondary released a couple of times a year just to keep feeling with it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  8. A student cypres YES (or a VIGIL in student mode in case you want to use tyhis shit) An expert cypres NO, not even in a pilatus porter ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  10. Every time I read this thread, I'm feeling very happy I jump CYPRES 1&2 As an aerospace design engineer I'm more happy with airtec ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  12. Having one procedure (cut-away + reserve pull) is much easier to remember. The only situation you do not have to cut-away (but you can without problems) is when you are absolutely sure there is nothing out. Even a pilot in tow can cause a dual square situation without a breakaway, because the tension is less when the reserve container is open ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  13. DZ's are generally businesses (although there are a few club DZs out there still) and I would see letting someone like this jump at your DZ to be a really bad business decision. Yep, very bad business decision to let this jumper in. I've seen people send away for less because the DZ-owner does not want trouble. For me this would be absolutely a no-go As a visiting jumper I do not care about waivers simply because I'm responsible for myself and I don't blame others for my mistakes ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  14. So they'll end up giving back some of the money they got selling Iraq dual-use equipment in the first place. Still probably end up being net profit for them.... Did the iraqies pay?? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  15. The french pacifists??? 1) Rafale fighter, Tiger helicopter..... 2) One of the few european countries using batlle carriers 3) Don't forget the "legion etrange" (forreign legion) to do the dirty jobs for the president. 4) Parachute de France (part of zodiac) has a very big customer : French army ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  17. Quote "I'm sorry officer, you see, I'm Dutch and I've never went downhill in my car before!" reply] Ok I did not know that joke. Ik heb de boete gewoon genegeerd tot nu toe. Ik spreek namelijk selectief geen duits weet je. By the way I do not tow a "wohnwagen" and I never made an accident on the "autobahn" although I have a yellow numberplate Do not take my post that serious. It's about the same as the T-shirt given to my by a german instructor. It said:Rotterdam boogy 1940 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  18. Lets firebomb Dresden ones more. 21. Got a stiletto 107 with about 1000jumps on it, got a reline: 1) Opening, steering and flare (swoop) like new 2) Packing is not like new ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  24. Pulling one toggle completely down or making radical left-right movements can bring trouble (Like uncontrolled steering in a car) with any canopy also the lower wingloads. It's easier for me to twist a sabre 170 than a stiletto 107 Very quick steering input does not improve your turning rate. Feel how the canopy reacts when you steer. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  25. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I disagree. A good pilot will promptly trim the airplane for best glide speed, which is similar to best rate of climb speed and similar to approach speed, usually 1.3 times the stall speed. That is ussually more than a normal jumprun ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
