  1. It's a Rawa http://www.rawa.com.br/portugues/modelo_capa1.htm Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  2. I also used to jump with a guy who only had one leg. I don't recall him ever landing on his but or with a PLF. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  3. Wow, this turns out to be more complicated then in thougth. If you PLF when something unexpected/unusal happens then you are doing what you were taught when you got licensed. If you still happen to jump a round canopy
  4. Ok, i did not think of PLFs and other intentional non feet only landings of course those are good landings too. Same goes for anything when you try something new. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  5. Hello Everyone, How many bad landings are ok for a licensed skydiver (A-license) to have every 100 jumps? By bad landing i mean everything where more than your feet touch the ground. It does not matter if there was a special situation like an unintentional downwind landing, somebody running around the landing area or a landing outside of the dropzone. All of these things are things that happen everyday. If you are being shot at while you are landing thats a different story, i won't count that. Oh, tandems don't count! Reason i am asking is because some people seem to be pretty comfortable with quite a lot of bad landings and i want to get a feel to what the general consensus is. 6. Hello Everyone, i am just curious, thinking of all the competitive swoopers i know i find that a lot of them have gotten hurt with a failed swoop. How common is it really for competitive swoopers to get hurt, are there many that have never gotten seriously hurt? By seriously i don't mean cuts and bruises i mean broken bones and anything that stops you from jumping for more than a week or that requires a medical treatment. By competitive swoopers i mean anybody who takes part in competition or trains specifically for swooping competitions. Curious about your answers. 7. I think you need one of these http://www.brauniger.com/english/products.html they are used by paragliders to find out if you are going up or down. Some of them might be able to record. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  8. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1714456;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; very carefull, Nadine was jumping a Katana also and we had a very serious injury with a Katana at my DZ also. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

  10. Started last Saturday, went there with work on Monday... did not feel so good at work Tuesday morning. Frank
  11. Try the German Forum "Stammtisch" here on dz.com, there are a couple of austrian jumpers there that frequently jump in the surounding countries, they might now the good DZ's in Hungary. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  12. How about automatically delaying every reply to a new incidents thread by three days. That would give the moderators time to delete posts and prevent irrelevant replys on the speculation from these replies. After a couple days there should usually be more facts available to start a discussion with less speculation. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  13. I could not agree more. I just got back from the incidents forum reading the same thread, looking to learn something. I got annoyed from going through all the zero value posts and post that are not according to the guidelines and stopped reading. I would be fine if the moderators just delete those posts and not even hassle messages to the posters. Sorry, needed to vent too. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  14. Was the last one made with the 8mm Peleng? Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  15. Because they usually don't die if they do that. Appart from that i have never hear that statement. I also recall one DZ grounding jumpers for a month if they had an AAD fire, was ist Eloy? Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  16. But dozens of jumps have been made with a fatal outcome. There used to be a graph on the old skydiving fatalities page showing how the number of No pull low pull fatalities have decreased with the introduction of a working AAD. might have been more primitive but in skydiving the majority of incidents have nothing to do with primitive gear. The failing link is the skydiver and a fix for that can be, a working AAD. That is not the way it should be but that is the way it is. My answer to your question is NO, but i do think that if a skydiver actually had his AAD fire he should consider if he should not be bowling. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  17. The Florabama Bar is not a bad place to fly over. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  18. Not quite, that would be the amount you pay if you declare the item. If you get caught, you also pay a fine. A colleageu of mine had to pay a few hundred for smugeling a lens accros the border. Frank If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  19. Check with the french customs agency they can tell you how much customs you have to pay. For import in Germany you would have to pay a couple percent import duties and 19% "Einfuhrumsatzsteuer" basically VAT. Riggers are required to ask for proof that you pay for customs before they make the german gear check cards. Check UPS for shipping. Yes, it is expensive, but the dollar is also cheap. Or you can just sneak the rig across the border while you are on vacation in the US, but that would be illegal of course and for Germany you would need to find a rigger as your parnter in crime. 20. What country would that be? Im an not aware of overfly strict regulations in central Europe. Can you get a medical for a USPA license and then have it changed into a license of your country without medical? Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.

  22. Thanks you very much for everyone involved in putting this even together and getting the biggest flocks Chester has ever seen in the air. Here are some of the pictures: http://coolschranxx.de/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=638 Frank If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  23. And a lot of questions. Did he have a cutaway on his helmet? Did he have nylon screws? And if not why do people still jump the ringsights that have a single metal post stickung out with no possibility for nylon screws? If he did have nylon screws we need to think of something else. This kind of thing keeps happening every once in a while and sometimes even kills people. Frank If it does not cost anything you are the product.
