the trick is to pick the places you eat.. I never get stuff like kebabs after a drunken night out anymore after finding finger nails and such like in some ... Restaruants that show a little pride in themselves are usually OK and you can gererally tell by the way the waiters treat the food - iif they slap it down and generally don't care, there ain't a lot of motivation there... if they take some care over their service, it's probably ok.

For those who are interested, I currently have 108 jumps, jump a Sabre 135 loaded at 1.14:1 and am happy to land it on my rear risers alone. I generally land using double fronts at the moment. however, seeing people swoop, many seem to start planing their canopy on rear risers and transfer to toggles later in the surf. When is the best time to learn to do this? When I have more jumps? Will it have any effect on my size canopy? Any advice would be appreciated... Many thanks Will edited to make the subject clearer

have a look at the post I made here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=915222;page=4;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; It's part of a review of the Katana by Pete Allum. It suggests that the Katana is definately not suitable for Novice / Intermediate jumpers. I'd also advise reading the whole thread... Will edit: thanks Ian - I forgot about he clicky part...

Just for interest, there's an article by Pete Allum in Skydive Mag reviewing the Katana. He was loading the 107 at 1.63:1 Some choice pieces are: "It shares many characteristics with the family of crossbraced canopies; high speed dives and long swoops." he rated it as completely unsuitable for Novices and Intermediate skydivers. and "I have been jumping 90-96 sqft crossbraced canopies for the last 2500 jumps and prior to that I spent 6000 jumps on a stiletto 120... [snip] ..This parachute is not for the faint of heart at mid to high wing loadings." Will

I've read most of the posts on skydiving involvement in the X-games before posting this one. I did so firstly because most of the other threads seem to lose focus after a while (hence the directly answerable questions in this one) and secondly because I would like more input, not on whether it should be involved, but how we can get it involved. It's that distinction that I didn't explain in my first post. As has been stated on all previous threads on the subject, is that there is a problem with merchandising our sport and the costs involved in getting into it etc. I do not propose to start up that debate again... instead I've been looking at it from the other way round. What can we offer them? How can we make it more spectator friendly? How can we sell ourselves to the public. There will always be those who don't wnat skydiving to be involved in the X-games, either for safety reasons or for the stigma attached to the extreme sports label. Both are valid arguments, but instead of saying 'we can't'... I'd like to try and say 'how can we...' This is where any help would be invaluable. Will

From interview: "And so I'd find myself tracking towards sombody who was deploying which is a totally different thing to do. I guess it's a little bit of a crazy thing to do..." The film looks stunning - it's just made my list of things to get.
