as well as the safety issue.. I would think that it is important for the student to know that if they do go unstable for any reason, then they know that they can recover it - looking at the sky for the time when you're meant to be belly to earth can be a little disturbing...

I would have thought that this would lead to half the canopy turning whilst the other half is still inflating... wouldn't this lead to twists at the very least? I am guessing that rolling the entire nose in one direction could cause this sort of opening.

nice one mate.. glad to hear you're club's starting to get jumping. Aber isn't it? Where are you jumping?

OK.. first things first... calm down dude! Don't worry about it being the end of the university terms - I personally reckon that this is a good time to start people jumping. The problem with starting in October time is that the weather goes downhill rapidly - chances are that a lot of your students will require retrains after the winter break anyway. Starting now on the other hand allows your new members to take advantage of any decent weather we do get and hopefully be qualified enough to be able to make some jumps over winter. As for people not jumping over the summer break - If they enjoy the sport, they will find some excuse to be around the dz. Some DZ's will accept students trained at other places dependant upon them having made a certain number of jumps - usually 5. Try bringing them to some of the BCPA events coming up - they can meet people there and maybe arrange lifts and the like for during summer. Feel free to ask for any more help, but do e-mail Flick - she knows a load about setting up clubs. Will

try using windows media player... Copy From CD option... you should get a window saying do you want to copy protect them... this'll rip 'em to MP3 for you... then just transfer them to MD.
