  1. It's funny that you've brought this up, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. The oldest post of mine that I can find is from March 5th 2001. I had 110 jumps and must have beeen jumping for just under a year. I'm embarressed to read it now because it's one of those "I want to downsize" posts that come up so often from newbies who really don't need to downsize. Needless to say Skybytch chimed in and talked some sense. Since then I've done another 550 jumps, become a proficient freeflyer and birdman and I've signed up for a BASE fjc. And I've downsized twice . Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  2. Thanks for saying nice things guys! It's now been copied here on to skydivingmovies.com Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  3. There's a "slo" mode that I think is a relatively recent change. As far as I know it changes the speed at which the ProTrack thinks you've deployed your canopy so that wingsuit flight doesn't confuse it. I don't know of any more recent changes. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  4. For those of you who've been waiting with baited breath (maybe) and for those of you who will download and watch any old crap I offer up my lastest little video: Outpatients 3. Mainly freefly with some BirdMan and even some flat that I accidentally did over the summer. 16 minutes Windows Media 26 megs Feedback very welcome! Gus ps I don't seem to be able to hold a connection to skydivingmovies.com for long enough to upload the file so if someone can do it for me that would be great
  5. Isn't that what Newbie meant by 'spandex cuffs'? I read it as the spandex cuffs on the back of Newbies risers were too tight to stow the excess brake line. My observation was that if he actually started using them they would become less tight and more useable. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  6. I would definately stow the excess. Why have it flapping around in the breeze when it could be neatly tucked away? The spandex 'cuffs' on your risers may be tight but I bet if you started using them all the time they'd loosen up quite quickly. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  7. This used to be pretty uncommon at my home dz but people seem to be doing it more and more. I'll occasionally ask for a pin check but only if I think I might need one (if I've been sat with my back against something or if people have been moving around alot) and only if there's someone that I know and trust to do it. 8. Hello gurus! I have a video file that I'm trying to output back on to my camcorder. If I play the video (in Windows Media Player for example) it occasionally 'stutters' when it changes from one scene to another - the music cuts out for a split second. When I'm outputting to my camcorder and it does this 'stutter' thing it craps up the recording. It's reeeeeeally annoying . What I'm wondering is whether there's something wrong with the file and whether anyone knows of any tools that can check the file and fix the broken bits? Any other suggestions are most welcome. Thanks, Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  9. It's definately a good idea to get your packing sorted as soon as possible. Not being able to pack will slow your jumping down. What you're aiming to get is a packing certificate, which is signed off by an instructor then endorsed by the BPA. As I remember it, to get a packing certificate you need to: detach and re-attach a canopy from the container, pass a tangle test (ie someone mangles the canopy up and you have to take out all the twists) and of course pack the canopy into the container. A packing course should cover some, if not all, of this. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  10. That 33 on the camera refers to something else, it's definately a 30mm thread. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  11. 2 of my favourites: Or more succinctly:
  12. You might want to ask your question to some wingsuit BASE jumpers as they're the people most familiar with still air exits. Not wishing to hijack your thread but.....can you tell us how your Matter suit compares to the GTI? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  13. Just tugging your dick dude. Downloaded it, watched it, liked it!
  14. No way man, I got sucked in once already. "Smack Booty all birdman video" he promised me but when I went to watch it? I got nothing . Tease. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  15. There's Bryan Burke's The Book of Canopy Control on the Eloy website. Lots of good info in there. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  16. Hey nice work dude. 3mins from 13000 down to 3000. Better start those arm exercises and get that S3 on order! Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  17. The biggest downside to wearing big-ass goggles over your glasses is that you think that you look like a total dork. What helped me was realising that the goggles had very little to do with it. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  18. I think you'll find that was a controlled barrel roll. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  19. I thought I'd read a post by Bill Booth explaining why you should pack the bridle inside the pc. I think it was to ensure that the pc couldn't inflate under the bridle. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  20. No-one has suggested that there could be something wrong with your hardware, is that a possibility? Are the buckle things (technical term ) clean and undamaged? Have you compared them to a set which doesn't have this problem? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

    S3 fit

I have a friend who just got his S3 which he ordered by giving Birdman the serial number of his GTi. He's sent it back too, it's really tight especially around the crotch and thighs. I wonder if they've changed how they're using the measurements? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

  23. Off heading openings, line twists, slow openings - things that may have been prevented by using BASE gear. I was also thinking along the lines of people turning up with inappropriate gear and being turned away. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  24. To anyone that's been in recent years: how much skydiving gear do you see at Bridge Day and does it ever cause problems? Just interested. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I have an Alienskin SF with about 450 jumps on it. The fabric's weird, it's very 'loose' compared to the same rig in cordura, I don't think it'll last as long as cordura but it looks pretty cool
