  1. Was that a question for me? I don't have a Javelin, I just linked to a picture I'd seen on here before, Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  2. I had a look at one a few months back and was going to jump it but couldn't in the end - but it looked good. Packing might be a bit more tricky if you're putting the top closing loop in the base plate. To be honest though, I think there are very few people in the world who are pushing their wingsuits hard enough for a tapered container like the wsx-treme or Vertigo's Merlin to provide any real performance improvement. Just the opinions of a newbie. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  3. If there's no tension in your chest strap then loosen it more won't do any good. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  4. Jason, I think what you're talking about is the ultimate goal for freeflyers. We strive to learn to fly as many body positions as we can precisely so we can combine them and truely fly our bodies without conciously thinging about 'head up' or 'head down' or whatever. But it's difficult! So we do it in steps. Look at people like Olav and Omar who really are free flying, it takes time. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  5. I'm waiting for a rig that I've ordered through Roy. The orderforms that I filled in for both the main and reserve included questions on my jumps numbers, current canopy and other canopies I've jumped. I emailed Roy a bunch of time before I ordered and always got good responses, then spoke on the phone to actually place the order. So far I'm very happy. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  6. Try hot chocolate with a shot (or two!) of kahlua. Now that's some sweet shit right there. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  7. Represent! We don't see that many Wings over here (in the UK, at my dz at least) but the ones I've seen looked good and the BM mods on the one you had at zhills looked very tidy. Can't wait. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  8. Rob was talking about the difference in how corners are constructed/sewed although I have to admit I didn't really get it at the time - and now I just can't remember. It may have been to do with the corners not wrapping at all. Not that it really matters any more. I should have my smack-booty EXT with me in 45 days
  9. Picture of a Javelin here. Also check out this and this from the Morpheus site (who originally developed dynamic corners). Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  10. Did you buy the container new? What was it built for? How does the 135 fit in there? If in doubt give Chris Thomas the serial number and I'm sure he'll tell you. Even better borrow a 150 and try to pack it in there. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  11. I think you only have to look at the fatality stats to see that this is a good idea, I hope the BPA follows suit. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

    MTR - 2 ?

I assume this is the MTR-2 here. Picture from flybirdman.com. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  13. I haven't seen it but Brian Germain's Vertical Journey is supposed to be good. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  14. How to make it safer? Help people realise that it's ok to say "no" to a jump or to take themselves out of a group. I've been on jumps where it was a miracle no-one got hurt - because there were too many people on that jump who didn't know what they were doing. Myself included. But you know what it's like, it's nice to be asked along and you don't want to say no for fear of not being asked again. Now, a couple of years later, I'm quite happy to say no and I have done when I think a jump's going to be a zoo to the point of being unsafe. Your safety on any one jump is directly related to the people you're jumping with. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  15. Are you allowed to use a canopy as a reserve once it's been used as a main? Or is that just an American restriction? I thought I'd seen something along those lines on here before.... Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  16. If you want to swap footage between a PAL and an NTSC camcorder I believe it's crap at best and doesn't work at worst. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  17. Also here. That 144 shot buffer looks very tempting....Do you think it can really maintain 3 fps for 144 shots? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  18. There's a Senseless Acts Of Video with Troy Hartman on a wakeboard. Was that behind a helicopter though? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  19. Me too - and my rigger got a bit carried away building my extended bridle so it's about 10.5 ft pin to pc! Doesn't really make it harder to pack. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  20. Have you looked on the BPA website? There's a map on there with all the dzs on it so you can look and see. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  21. There are a couple on my site if you haven't already seen them. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  22. I really hope that's not true . It won't be long before we'll be signing pages and pages of waivers and reading video statesments . I think Yoink might have the right idea. Good rant by the way, thanks for all the info. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  23. Help me out here: I always thought that insurance premiums rose with the risk that you were insuring against - which is why my first year of car insurance was so high but is now slowly coming down as I get older and wiser. So, in my simple mind, when I see the BPA insurance rocket I think that it must be because the risk has increased as well. But here's the bit I don't get: the cover we get through the BPA is 3rd party right? So it's cover against if I land on Farmer McFriendly's prize cow or punch a whole in his barn roof? But how has the risk of that changed from last year to this? I understand that insurance in aviation is going up because of perceived risk to aircraft but that doesn't seem to apply in this case. What's going on? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  24. Don't be getting any ideas Will........ Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
  25. Thanks Rob. The pilot chute in question has tapes on the mesh, just not the radial tapes on the top. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
