  1. Wow Herold... what a statement.. care to tell us who your friend was that pointed you to this site? We would sure like to meet with you bith and talk to you about what is going on and then you can make an informed choice on things. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  2. I am not sure about tickets, but I bet we could get a bookie to make some odds on whats going to happen.. I have my money on the new DZ will open and thier plane will take happy skydivers to 13,000 feet of fun! Besides that it gives the locals something to talk about, just look one person that claims to be a local made it to these fourms and makes post under tresspassing1 or some B.S. like that! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  3. Mark You have too much time on your hands bro! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  4. "Hey toot (that does mean fart in the wind doesn't it?)" Is some grade school kid writting this for you? "Sounds like his opinion, reasonable, from his web site his city requires them, than why should his competator be allowed a different standard?" Are they not in diffrent towns? Why should one city have to have the same standard as another' and why would it be a city consideration anyway? "Yes, he says he has 5000 jumps with a camera on his head shooting pictures, I'll check with USPA and the FAA for the regulation that says that this qualifies you to operate or manage a DZ." There is nothing that qualifies anyone to either own or manage a dz, there is no rating per say. Any person can own and run a DZ, they do not even have to be a skydiver to do so. USPA nor the FAA have any regulation as to who can manage or operate a DZ. hell even you hugh anus could own and or manage a dz if you had the desire and drive to do so. . "Your showing your IQ boy! " And Hue you are showing yours and it makes you look like your fake last name.. "Now that we are getting to the crux of the post, did a little research at the DZ last weekend, got the DZO to go online and do some checking with USPA, seems our little buddy tooth is not a USPA member? or is he lying about who he is? also checked on the new DZO Joanna Ericksmoen not a USPA member? How was she jumping at crosskeys? If we are going to complain about what is fair and right, than we should air all of the truths! Anyone here explan this? I would like to know! OH I'am sure there is some unknown reason that will be revealed at the next city meeting! right! TOOT!" When you where busy researching at your Dz did you see anywhere in those rules that you have to be a uspa member to make a skydive? The answer to that is NO, you do not have to belong to the USPA to skydive! You claim that Tooth may be lying about who he is, and you post under a false name yourself.. and then plea to air out the truths...... Hue you are just full of it aren't you. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  5. "That’s 1600 takeoffs/landings, or “operations”. A takeoff is one operation, a landing is another, flying a load of skydivers, or a Life Flight Sortie would each be two operations." Well the important part of the whole life flight event is the depart time.. Landing back at base as fast as you can is not as inportant as getting to the scene. The EMS service I work for runs 1,500 calls per year and for the last three 24 hr shift I worked we did nothing at all.. not one call. However the last shift I just came off, the fourth shift of this month we ran 9 calls, Almost all of the calls came before 10am and the rest after 9pm. In my opinion 1,600 calls per year is not that busy! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  6. Thats a good read, thanks for the post.. I wonder how much money life flight would have to spend to relocate? It would seem to me that life flight is claiming 1,600 calls per year. Thats 4.384 calls per day.. so lets say they may get 5 calls per day. of those 5 calls per day I wonder how many would be during a normal skydive operation part of the day? If there is an airport access problem I think the new DZO has the USPA blessing as Mr Bangs himself has help promote this dz with his blessing. or so I have heard but can't confirm as of yet. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  7. Off topic but martin I think those where sponge bob undies you had on at couch freaks during the best dressed man contest. When i asked you thru PM what your take was on this I was not questioning your honesty in anyway as you have nothing to loose in this.. Like you I find it intresting in how many fake posters have come into this fourm. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  8. QuoteSo what are the facts?*** "Who knows? You sure will not find them here with posts from people with a personal interest in this event! Not my job to know! But it is my job to respect the true fact that I am not invovled" You became involved when you posted here, so whats your personall intrest in this? It's obvious that you have something to say as you registerd just to make this post and you hide behind a false name.. come on Hue-Anus.. are you related to Sofa King or Dixie Wrecked? "BUT! there is one fact Kansas City is the home of Sun Flowers and Sonabitches!, and I haven't read a post from a Kansas City Sunflower Yet!" Wow that's a bold comment.. the people who you defended in earlier post are not sunflowers? Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  9. "only post on what you can prove are true facts, and not on emotional, biased, partial truths and hear-say information. It will make you appear to be much more intelligent." Do you know for fact that Dave has an unsecessfull business based on surfing the net, or was that based on emotion by your part? I know I will get flamed for that statement by you but I realized it before I posted it.. so Flame away of you want. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  10. In what manner did "they" strong arm themselevs into this airport? can you point out facts that will show this to be true tactics? Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  11. Hey Hippe with three years in the sport I am sure you can answer the question you pose on how long does it take a tandem to come down from 13k. the freefall time is just about the same and the tm's still open at the same alti... Calling a helicopter to the scene is part of my job and I will tell you that some crews are ready to go right now and some take a bit to get inflight.. there are so many things that can affect the take off of a chopper. Time is important in ems and minutes do count, but we can't expect things to happen that fast all the time. Perhpas vairables such as another aircraft is on final for landing can affect the depart time of a chopper as well and thats is just as easy to effect them as the skydivers will. But none of this really matters and I will tell you why! The DZ is slated to open, they have been already approved and the last meeting was to just ask for more hanger space not to determine if they can open or not. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  12. ad to say but my rig is worth more then both of my cars total value. One 1989 mitis Galant and one 1985 ford ranger p/u. the Galant has 200K miles and the truck has just over 100K miles.. Both cars I got for free, both run just fine and the truck is so cheap on gas that I would not trade it or sell it right now. Neither car has working AC and summer in kansas can be hot to say the least.. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  13. Maybe Paul doesn’t have your phone number Joe? Martin Actually paul does have my number and he has talked to me but never about myself being staff of the DZ, maybe it is because I have let it be known that I am letting my ratings go and returning to fun jumps only. But from what I understood he was bringing staff with him to KC area. perhaps I am wrong in that assumption that I extracted from our conversation. So does Mark have the beer on ice yet? I should be arriving down there soon.. ACDZ rocks!!! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  14. Just wait till Skyride comes your way. . They already have! www.greenboxphotography.com
  15. Martin you have been at a caravan DZ in the mid west that failed. Whta where the down falls that Phills caravan faced? I know that the wichita caravan bounced from one dz to the other, we had it in Mt Vernon Mo from time to time. I also know that it was used to fly some frieght out of Pittsburg Kansas as well. What happend to that contract? What alot of outside of the area jumpers don't see about this whole event is that there is essentially three DZ's to choose from already in the KC area. All of wich are somewhat of a drive from the city. But what the hell are we that lazy not to make a nice drive to skydive? Skydive kansas is South of Topeka, MRVS is just East of the city and you can stop by the Casino on your way home for a good meal. Skydive kansas city is South of the city in Butler Mo, but honestly it's not that far to drive either. maybe one hour. The diffrence that i can see right now is that paul is offering a bigger plane with more Altitude. Most of the DZ's listed above only go to 9,000 ft for the same money paul will charge for 13,000. That said paul is also going to be the closest DZ to the city. There seems to be some argument from other dzo's right now. Thats business and fair game is fine but when you cross a line of foul play by going out in the night placing flyers around thats just wrong, espically when that dzo wanted that land before he opend at his current location. thats whole deal was just a bad move on his part in my personall opinion. Has it been said that paul is looking to take staff away from other dz's? If so that is news to me. I was under the impression that paul already has a staff of jumpers and has not at all recruited any local persons persay. I wish that the people who logged in to this fourm with no user info (justthefacts) would at least aknowledge who they are, because once it is out it could look worse for you to hide then to upfront and honest about who you are! Way to go martin, you really stirred the shit pot in KC, Maybe I will come down to Wichita and bring the popcorn and mark had better have some beer for me. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  16. So Chris said he was from the USPA? Does the uspa know about this and I wonder how they would feel about his actions? Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

    Turkey Hunters

Just learn to call with out the use of any call.. It takes a bit of time to learn and you may loose your voice after a hard morning of hunting.. but you can do it even if you don't think you sound like a turkey now. Watch turkey hunting shows but don't actually watch the show, just listen to the guys calling.. I have not used a call in years and I have had great hunting seasons. If all else fails, just get a good flashlight and go early! Oh and watch for the man if you use that method! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  18. Glad that you took CPR! It saves lives! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  19. I will never tell you what to do but just post this for your information. I know a person who has jumped an expired cypress for well over one year and still turns it on every time he jumps. I would bet that if tested the unit will still pass the cypress inspection process. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  20. Hammy Hey bro.. we need to go make a few fun freefly dives soon. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  21. Ambulances have sirens and lights so that they can get to an accident scene quicker, so obviously that means that time is important. So I just don't quite understand why, once you've finished arriving at the scene in a great hurry, all of a sudden things switch to go-slow mode for the last few hundred feet. Well it seems that none of us have a way to explain our efforts or answer your questions with the answer you want. So I could offer this suggestion and say go on some ride time with your local EMS, get to know what they are doing and why they do it. take the class and really understand whats going on. As I have said before you could possibly save some person someday. But maybe you just want to argue and think we ems persons really don't care and that we are a bunch of lazy ass fucks who don't like to run. heaven forbid that all the ems persons on this site that state we don't run for a reason would be correct.. but then again that could have been one of our secret oaths we took when we got out of school. Either way there seems to be no way for your to understand that we have rules we follow, they are flexable and on occassion you can run if you want and sometimes it is just flat out the wrong thing to do.. but none the less you seem convicend to know our job and what we should be doing. Perhaps taking up as a director of an ems service would fit you and your crews could run at full speed at every scene and you would rest easy in life knowing that you may have saved one or two seconds off a scene time. Either way I am done trying to help you understand. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  22. I used to work as a rigger for Powrachute. the then leading maunfacture of powered parachute aircraft. With out a doubt I would stay with what ever Betty has to tell you over at high energy sports. Tell her that Joe sent you.. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  23. That sounds contradictory to me. 1) Seconds count. 2) Running saves seconds. 3) Therefore, running can save a life. You can assess a situation while running towards it. But hey, if I'm pumping out my last quart of blood, or gasping my last breathes of air - please, don't break out into a sweat over me. Should this "no running" rule also apply to police and firemen, who also have people depending upon them to save their lives? Well a year or so back a call went out here in KC and two EMS persons showed up on scene.. no police or fire crews where on scene yet and these medics broke a golden rule. they went rushing in! Rule one in ems.. BSI (body substance isolation) sub part of rule one. Scene safe! That was the last time those two rushed anywhere.. the scene was not safe and they are dead as some looney shot both of them! What does this have to do with your skydiving injuries.. nothing, but we don't rush. The state of kansas allows us to drive 10 over the posted speed limit with very few exceptions and more restrictions then exceptions. When we drive with the lights and sirens we are really only asking for the right of way, we have no legal right of way and we are forced to stop at red lights just the same as everyone else. On occassion I find that I speed up my walk, but I don't run. I have ran in the past, saw a lady drive off the highway into a corn field.. she was out cold when I ran all the way to her.. took me about 5 solid min's to catch my breat before I could do anything at all... could ahve walked in the same amout of time. Take am EMS class, it could save your buddy or a family member.. hell even that guy who turns blue on you. the you will understand why we don't run. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

  25. Quote from: riggerjoe on October 17, 2005, 04:17:05 PM Right so it's something they both wanted yet her parents are not being told.. does not sound accidental to me at all.. but thanks for the update.. Joe "joe... i've spoken to rick about this, and why her parents aren't yet being told. from what i understand, the fact that shayna just got divorced, is involved with rick, who is a skydiver, and she just got in a skydiving accident that nearly killed her, is causing understandable stress to her parents and siblings. from what i understand, shayna thinks adding the fact that she's pregnant is just a little too much stress for them at this time. i believe she's waiting for a more opportune moment to share this with her family, when they are more in a position to be excited about it as opposed to upset. some of her immediate family had not even met rick until the accident. so... it seems that rick thought it was common knowledge on IH that shayna was pregnant, but knew that shayna wanted to share it with her blood family at a more opportune time and rick's comment was merely to ensure shayna would be able to tell them on her own terms. is that all clear now?" Just food for thought here.. this is a post accident conversation on a private site called Industrial haze. It is a chat site that persons from the DZ where the accident happend and the DZ where the instructor was from use to..well Chat! The conversation is about Shayna and her new found upcoming motherhood. With the recent knowledge that I have gained that she did not have health insurance, rick had no insurance and no one seemed to be holding a real full time job it makes me wonder where they thought money was going to come from to have a child. It's now obvious they planned to have a child as per the words of Rick himself. and still had no means to support a child. that really makes me sad. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
