    Completely disagree with that. Cancer is not an infectious disease. Children simply do not have the capacity to understand life and death. By most accounts durring her court appearance, the Girl, along with her mom, knew very little about her condition and her treatment options. And that refusal is putting whom other than her at risk?     The problem with the old rule is it was a school requirement. Homeschool changed this so any new rule would have to impact ALL.     They were. At least they used to be. Mandatory that is. Kids had to be vaccinated to attend school. There were waivers, but they were pretty hard to get and required an actual, valid, medical reason. And kids were safely vaccinated for decades before this bullshit about autism came up.     My objection is to intentionally ignoring the specific groups that the objectionable behaviors are coming from, along with those that support those behaviors. Right... how specific (or rather non-specific) are the groups you want to focus on? We've got all the data, just process it and look for all commonalities not excluding any to avoid "hurting a groups feelings."     And you're intentionally ignoring that association. Do Muslim terrorists make all Muslims bad? No. What makes them bad is what, if anything, they have in common with those terrorists beyond whom they worship. Do they agree with what the terrorists are doing? Do they promote/support them? Do they support Sharia? Etc. No. Many are segregating themselves and as seen in other countries, once they have enough numbers they get bold. The IRA, as bad as they were, had a realistic non religion based goal. "Death to all infidels" is not. It's basic triage, you focus on the worst first. You've got two groups of people, one with guns shooting innocent people, the other with a baseball bats hitting innocent people. Who do you target first? Additionally, the baseball bat group may back down/surrender depending on the force used to neutralize the ones with guns.     Thanks, Wendy. I'd forgotten all about the DOS commands. I thought they were discontinued sometime around WindowsNT. Command line is even bigger now in Windows OS's.     A 'settlement' can ONLY occur if ALL parties agree to it. Why do you care what other people do? That is a serious question, Jerry Baumchen Because most settlements aren't the choice of the parties involved, but their insurance company or legal insurance. Those decisions are made to minimize said insurance companies risk, not to fight for what's right. Just look back to USPA vs. Skyride. USPA was forced to settle by their legal insurance.     Individuals with disabilities would still of course be protected as they can't just arbitrarily choose to no longer be. I think we've already got enough legal discrimination against atheists in this country, I'd prefer to still be able to shop at whatever store I want instead of having that taken away too.     I really, really wish that losing-party-pays-all-legal-fees would become more prevalent CONCEPTUALLY to help keep people from filing dumb suits, but in practice that just becomes financial rape of those who cannot afford high powered lawyers. edit: and corrupt lawyers would overcharge and give kickbacks to their clients to entice them into filing suits. Hell I'd be happy if just out of court settlements became illegal. Very few cases are decided by a judge or jury to set any sort of precedent.     How many are asking for swastika cakes? Likely have only had the one request that was denied so unless they show some prior policy discrimination or targeting can't be disproved. But we're still stuck in the same circular argument that forcing people and businesses to cater to others does have some unintended consequences.     And if religion is included, this leaves the door wide open for anything to be discrimination. A person asks for a swastika cake. They claim (and have their religion's holy book passages to back him up) that it's a symbol of their religion. Another person asks for a bible cake with one of the anti gay passages written on it. This is the issue with the government dictating whom a business must work with, particularly with a non DNA group such as religion. As stated in another thread, should the government decide that any of it's vendors must have strict anti-discrimination policies that protect ALL. It ain't the 50s and 60s anymore folks.
