  1. I'm not a huge tree-hugger or anything, but it sort of bothers me that they just dump the plane in the ocean. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. Picture of the dog here. Looks like it could kick my ass. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. Is there free camping at the DZ? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. BUMP/CLICK So the news item says they "will attempt" between June 13-17th, but the news was posted on the 20th? Has it been done? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. I agree... I made a post right after I got my S3 that I actually find flocking EASIER in it than my GTI. The control range is more broad, and flying in the middle (or even low end) is pretty simple. It's flying on the upper end solo that makes me start to TWITCH. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  6. You think I don't know that? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  7. Looks tight! Hard to tell from that pic, but are all 4 docked? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  8. Ok, go ahead and criticize me for number-whoring, but I have done a lot of flocking in my S3 and figured it was time to figure out how to fly it hard, solo. In my GTI I could get 130 seconds on a normal altitude jump, and I can barely best that (135 seconds) in my S3, due partially to my skill and partially to my endurance (I can get speeds in the low 40's, but can't hold them for the whole jump). The main thing I have noticed is that the body position for slow flight seems different between the two suits. I my GTI, I would make a conscious effort to de-arch at the hips, as I've seen people say you should do for slow flight. During the flight, if I looked "down" (toward my feet), I could see my entire legs and feet, reinforcing that the de-arch was there. However, in my S3, I have yet to see more than the tips of my toes protruding past my hips in my line of sight. Every time I try to raise my butt up a little, so that I should be able to see my own legs, like I could in my GTI, I feel like I am on the verge of doing a front flip and speed up vertically a lot (rather than slowing down). Is this a valid observation? Can anybody else de-arch at the hips in their S3? I realize we're all built different anyway, but I really feel like in this suit it's all I can do to get flat, whereas in my GTI I could get "past flat"... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  9. True to a certain extent, but the first wingsuit did not cost $6mil. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. I will probably be there, with my wingsuit for sure!
  11. I will read this later when I have a few more free minutes... but I just wanted to say that I'm a huge Chuck P fan... I've read Choke (my fav) and Survivor and Invisible Monsters. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. I'm not sure what you would need one for anyway... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  13. Tool? learn to swim learn to swim learn to swim www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  14. Yeh, I thought about that. For a while I was thinking it wouldn't even be that cool if it required elaborate expensive equipment, and wasn't done by virtue of the wingsuit. But then I started thinking about the visuals that the pilot would see before landing. Well, it would probably be the same thing Loic has seen while flying down mountains! And some of us see something very similar when we get near canopies that are open high! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. Besides the point raised by Leroy about FAA... can you imagine any DZO (much more "cool" than FAA in general) who would even let a jumper attempt this at their DZ on a regular basis? Some DZ's have a hard time with wingsuits already... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. Where is that short from? Seems old, but still funny. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. Ok, that is more than reasonable... in fact it's a great deal. Thanks.
  18. It's not really P2P, but it does work well. I used to use torrentspy.com to locate torrents but it appears as recently as a few days ago, some restrictions have been placed on searches. DC++ is an even more effective way of finding what you're looking for. ANYTHING can be found there, and I mean anything. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. If a cubit is a measure of length, why couldn't you use square cubit as a measure of area? foot = length square feet = area meter = length square meters = area See the pattern?
  20. Reviving an old thread. I'm a total newbie to cameras, but I've noticed Diamond lenses seem to be popular. They make 0.3 and 0.5 it looks like. Is it possible to use a 0.3 in combination with the optical zoom on the camera, to create different zoom levels? For example, if the camera can normally go 1-10x, could it go 0.3-3x with a 0.3 on it? Or is this logic flawed? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  21. Correct. There is no substitute for personal experience. No matter how much you accept the risk in your head, you may change how you feel after seeing things firsthand. As humans, we place experience above all else as the #1 teacher. Which is why, when it comes to debates about gray areas in skydiving such as what to do with a PC in tow, etc, each party always bases their answer on their own experience. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  22. Funny when a skydiver makes a comment like this... since this is exactly the kind of comments we have to put up with from people who don't understand our sport! As others pointed out, the guy has skill. As nobody else pointed out, this is a repost but I'm too lazy to find the original. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  23. Yes, that's a GTI. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  24. No way man, you HOP on your head. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  25. For an answer to that question (cut corners), talk to flockers with the same rig as you. I know Javelins are different than Vectors. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
