How much do winds really push you in freefall
Erroll replied to tdog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Unless you're spotting a world record attempt with 300+ jumpers. Yip. you can have as many pints as you like afterwards. -
Like Benny Hinn, he screws a whole bunch of people?

Your regular 'organised' church doesn't prey on the sick. Your regular 'organised' church's ministers or pastors are not multi-millionaires, flying around in jets and living in mansions, all paid for by their 'victims' whom these con-artists have fleeced.

Nitpicking follows:- You may want to add this as a FAQ: What is a decent descent rate in a wingsuit?
-
Ok... I get it. The emphasis should be on old, not dirty?

If your country does not have a draft or conscription system, then it has a volunteer defense force. Surely that means that by simply joining/enlisting, one is by implication volunteering to go to war. For the record, I have volunteered. I am probably too old to do it again.

But.... If you let said dirty old man shower with you, won't he be a clean old man afterwards?

Benny Hinn is about to arrive in South Africa. One of our top investigative journalism TV programs, Carte Blanche , broadcast an exposé on Hinn and his 'ministries' and I was appalled to see how the man is allowed to rip off the public so blatantly. Of course, I was equally appalled at how gullible the public is! Have you experienced one of his (or any other evangelist's con-artist's) performances?

Need more evidence of the effects of global warming?

There must be some irony in pardoning turkeys...

Stick around. Mugabe has other plans.

This is in no way an attempt at US-bashing, but I can't help thinking the same when I read the 'Protestors at the funeral' thread.
-
Maybe his people should call her people?

Like someone said in another thread: A classical pee-pee competition.

I suspect that you have had a reasonably privileged upbringing and that you have not travelled much.

Anyone who has ever watched Animal Planet will know that Bill's famous list for landings was taken straight from the Ducks are cool episode.

Can anybody help me find a picture...
Erroll replied to piisfish's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I'm pretty sure it was Phalaborwa. Anyhow, I didn't jump there, although I did jump from the Swissboogie C130 at Swartkops AFB a few years later. -
Can anybody help me find a picture...
Erroll replied to piisfish's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
Any idea where those pics were taken? I seem to recall at one of the 'South African' Swissboogies they dispatched a piano. Up north - Phalaborwa perhaps? -
The old "Shock and awe" strategy?

You're in deep trouble if the burglar likes it....

We used them extensively in the South West African/Angolan conflict, except we called them .50 (5 oh) Brownings. They were often mounted in the doors of our choppers - ideal for clearing LZs, especially when mounted in twin-configuration. Awesome weapon!

If you had to choose either Clinton or Bush to be next president?
Erroll replied to ReBirth's topic in Speakers Corner
I'm guessing you were never in boarding school. -
Good example. Before Y2K I heard and read many similar stories about scaremongering, making a quick bug, nothing will happen etc. After Y2k (when nothing did happen) the same people were saying "See, I told you so!". Nothing happened only because we (the IT industry) took the early warnings seriously. Huge amounts of money and manhours were spent to ensure that nothing happened.
