Where do you find all this stuff? I believe you because it sounds reasonable, you are generally pretty fact oriented and I am too lazy to look it up, but if I tried to find that info on the web, it would take days and I probably still wouldn't have it. If you learned it in school, how do you possibly remember it from so long ago? Really, I'm impressed. A simple Google search for the phrase "If all the ice in Antarctica melted" produced 391 hits in .61 seconds. Most of the hits reflect the numbers Bill quoted above.

Sometimes one can only shake one's head in pity disbelief. -
Agreed, although I learnt to also say 'cheers' for 'thank you' while on extended stays in England. Cheers.

Yours truly on Cenotaph duty. Note the caption - still true today.

Once again, the Electoral College needs to go.

Forgive me, but I don't understand how that is different from what happens currently? As John pointed out, how much time did either candidate spend in Vermont, Rhode Island or Wyoming? -
Good luck to the US world Team (and other competitors)

Pleasant mid 20's (Celsius). Lots of clouds and rain about, but should start clearing by the Thursday/Friday. Late afternoon thunderstorms quite common. Enjoy! -
Going by your reflection on the DVD, I'd recommend that you watch no more DVDs. You need to rest.

I wish that more of your compatriots in this forum could say that instead of the hatred, veiled racism and bile that I see here. From Sen McCain's consession speech: Well Errol, you are pretty quick for a guy from a losing team. These people are just concerned that the crime, rape murder and mayhem that is ruling the "New South Africa" will become their part as well. Or do you think Mbeki did a good job destroying SA? Whatever I think of Mbeki, he was still our president, which is the point I'm trying to make.

Caerfull! You know what they said about Michelle Obama when she said something similar! But seriously, you put it all very well and I am happy for the American people.

I believe there is a lot more to that sentence than you realise!

Are those 60+ democrates incapable not allowed to think for themselves then?

"You told me it came with batteries! Where are the @#$%^&* batteries??"

Yup. I heard that she has formed a secret pact with Sen Obama - whichever party wins the Whitehouse gets to blow it up, and the other one gets to watch.

Agreed. I must confess that I was one of those seduced by Gov Palin's charm, and I still think she is an impressive woman. I also do not believe she is a dumb Caribou Barbie like she has been called on here, but a Vice President she is not yet.

I guess while anything can still happen to derail Sen Obama's campaign, the answer right now is a resounding "No", especially after Gen. Powell's public endorsement.

Conservative/Repub Buckley Endorses Obama, Says McCain Lacks Coherence
Erroll replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
That is really lame. Even a non-American like me knows that in the run-up to the primaries the various candidates (of the same party) nail each other all the time. -
Ahh, but ignorance is bliss. Arrogance, on the other hand, is quite lonely.

From my observations as an innocent bystander, he is just following a trend. The closer election day gets, and the bigger Obama's lead gets, the more desperate his detractors become - from McCain and Palin all the way down to the usual suspects in Speakers Corner.
