  1. Well, Tony Blair has yet to appear before the inquiry, but going by the testimonies so far, you'd lose.
  2. I have been following the Iraq inquiry, currently underway in the UK, with a lot of interest. Yesterday's testimony by the legal advisers was particularly illuminating. I thought Elizabeth Wilmshurst conducted herself extremely well - she is so well spoken, eloquent and confident (brains do make a woman sexy). My question to the UK guys: Assuming that the Chilcot Inquiry finds that the invasion of Iraq was illegal, then what happens? Is there likely to be any kind recourse that will be taken against Mr Blair and possibly even former attorney general Goldsmith? What about compensation to the families of fallen soldiers? Any other consequences?
  3. And here I thought you made that up. Ok, so I had some time on my hands.
  4. 'allo, 'allo! Herr Flick won't be very impressed! You mean he landed in a tree after all? Must've hurt!
  5. Just imagine the chaos if even half of those forgot their passwords!
  6. Now there is a good old South Africanism one doesn't often see on the 'Net! (albeit this one was written by an American)
  7. Hippos kill far more people in Africa than buffalo do. PS. Is a Caped Buffalo some kind of bovine super hero?
  8. From a local newspaper's review: From all I have heard and read, this is excellent storytelling, with superb acting from both Freeman and Damon, although it is not likely to strike a huge cord with foreign audiences. If you do go to see the movie, pay special attention to the closing scenes during the credits. Ps. I know - I am not Orange1.
  9. If this is so clear cut, why then would it require another bill passed by Congress? PS. I am not picking a fight with you. I also served for many years and had several tours of operational duty. I'm just trying to get a feel for how things work over there.
  10. On what information do you base your very definitive statements?
  11. From CNN : I suppose the passage (or otherwise) of this bill should settle the argument?
  12. Is it known why the pilot didn't eject? I read somewhere that he deliberately flew away from the crowd. If he had that much control left, he should have been able to eject too?
  13. forgive my ignorance, but if he ejected that low, facing the ground, wouldnt he hit the ground before the chute ever thought about opening? Many ejections systems make use of gyroscopes to which the ejection rockets are attached. (Vernier). These help to control the pitch of the seats.
  14. This is not really history (happened just the other day), but I was wondering whether there other similar stories out there from back in the day. Joyrider accidentally ejects from SAAF aerobatic aircraft
  15. And by the sounds of it, there is a lot of mass in the US.
  16. Right! Well, except chromium. Oh, and manganese. But other than those we have everything we need. Except platinum. And cobalt, don't forget cobalt. Did I mention neodymium? Oh, and tin, and nickel, and diamonds, and gold. Well, as a plan B, you could talk to invade us...
  17. here you are That must be why I thought the "Partner protection" thread had something to do with handing out condoms with the goodie bags at Nationals.
  18. http://www.alternet.org/media/142972/fox_tv%27s_bizarre_new_cartoon_comedy_is_a_minstrel_show%2C_pure_and_simple I saw the daughter on Family Guy making out with the dog. That's gotta count for something, right? Yes, but was it a white dog, a black dog, or a white dog painted black?
  19. Sarcasm really wasn't called for. I was quite serious with my questions. In another thread someone pointed out that should Iran fire just one missile, it (Iran) would be obliterated by either the US or Israel. Iran knows this. It does not make any sense for them to attack any one with nuclear weapons. I agree with that sentiment.
  20. Who would, in your opinion, be the target, and what would, in your opinion, be the consequences should they use them offensively?
