  1. You just keep on believing that.
  2. They say it was a quarter-mile away. I'm assuming that would be downhill. That's only 440 yards. I understand that the fuselage debris was found a quarter-mile away from the FAA licence and money that the hikers found. The engine was found about 300 foot higher than the fuselage. From CNN :
  3. And his middle name starts with an E. Could it be for Ebrahim?
  4. Why do you put fortune cookies in your shoe?
  5. Does it not follow then that the reviewer could be equally ruthlessly dishonest for the same reason? Furthermore, John claims that his 70-odd papers have been peer reviewed. I have no doubt that they were, but, in the light of this secrecy or anonymity, can he adequately demonstrate that?
  6. Has it not been established beyond a reasonable doubt by the conspiracy theorists that it was an inside job?
  7. Agreed. And not too hot in April. Add to that that the vegetation is a lot less dense for better viewing, and there is a lot less water, so game viewing around water holes can be excellent.
  8. As usual, you have no idea what you are ranting about, but you need to spew your bile anyway.
  9. Define 'developed' and 'healthcare' in this context. South Africa is regarded by most as a developing nation. To my knowledge every South African child up to the age of 6 is entitled to free primary healthcare.
  10. Indeed. This 'power-sharing' deal was stillborn. In his speech at the signing of the accord, Mugabe openly and frequently criticised and insulted Tsvangirai. He did not once refer to the rebuilding of Zimbabwe, of fixing things, of righting wrongs. Instead, in addition to his criticism of Tsvangirai, he went on his usual tirades against the West, so much so that his Generals on the stage with him started giggling, and Tsvangirai cringed and covered his eyes with his hands. Yesterday he spoke of his (and Zany-PF's) humiliation at having to share power with the MDC. He lost the elections, was forced by the senior military officers to not accept the outcome and stall the 'official' results for several weeks. He is not in charge, and as a result he is in no position to share power. He is a crazy megalomaniac who is being propped up by the military and police. It is only a matter of time.
  11. Down here there is quite a lot of publicity, especially for 'blade runner' Oscar Pistorius and Natalie du Toit. Eight golds between the two of them - a damn sight better than our dismal performance in the regular Olympics. One can't help but be inspired and humbled by all the paralympians.
  12. Dem bones, dem bones, dem .... expensive bones....
  13. I really wish posters who only post links would at least cut and paste the most pertinent paragraph or two. That way one can get the gist of article being linked to, and decide if it is worthwhile going there.
  14. The attached cartoon from The Sunday Times has caused a big uproar here in South Africa. It depicts "Justice" being held down by four senior political leaders, as they encourage Jacob Zuma, ANC president, to go for it. He has already undone his belt and opened his pants.... Background:- Jacob Zuma is about to be tried for corruption, and the four are all trying to interfere in the judicial process to prevent the trial from happening. The other party to the corruption charges, Shabir Shaik, has already been tried and found guilty, and is currently serving time. My personal opinion on the cartoon? It very accurately illustrates the state of our judicial system. It also makes a secondary comment on the violence against women, something that is very prevelant in this country. Side note:- Zuma is depicted with a shower on his head. The cartoonist, Zapiro, started doing this after Zuma, during his rape trail, said that he took a shower after having had sex with an HIV positive woman, to help prevent him from contracting AIDS.
  15. To what extent do these debates actually influence the electorate? From my (South African) vantage point, they make for good TV viewing, interesting media analyses the next day, and some points scoring on SC.
  16. I thought Ms Palin did very well. She was eloquent, charming, vivacious, confident, and she had them eating out of her hand. Oh, and she is gorgeous too!
  17. You are going to have to work at it. "you and your political overlords " is not bad, but you need more thinly veiled personal attacks, generalisations, profanities, and infantile misspelling of people's names and political parties, so as to be crude and insulting. When you feel you are really on a roll, scrap good grammar, spelling, etiquette and respect. Lets see how it goes.
  18. On another note, fucking a chicken, Tennessee....I suppose there's a certain homespun logic to it.... Do they have banjos in Tennessee?
  19. Why would the pole pretend to be something else? Are poles not allowed to vote in this poll, or what?
  20. In Kenya, huh? Yeah, I'll bet there are just loads of untapped opportunities lying around Kenya. As someone once said: "Forgive them for they know not of what they speak".
  21. Is there any reason why the Fringe LEFT should want to remain ignorant of their boy's association with violent radicals?? Is this more or less what you guys mean by 'drive-by journalism'?
