  1. When you are paying by the hour and you can't get it up.
  2. Yeah, they completely owned this game. France still has a chance to advance, with Uruguay losing vs Mexico and France winning by at least three goals vs. South Africa in the final group match. Ouch. For the real South African optimists : Uruguay beats Mexico and SA beats France by 5 goals!
  3. Champions? A tad premature, no? Well done.
  4. It is something we have had to learn to live with. I'd much prefer the English and European style singing - that really helps to build the atmosphere.
  5. We call it the Sardine Run. As for diving it? You will never have seen so many baracudas and sharks in one place!
  6. Who would have thought 1 all at half time???? I actually felt sorry for the Greene, but I am supporting USA tonight, so all is good.
  7. Oh, the irony - Henry claiming a handball! Another draw in the same group - interesting prospects ahead.
  8. Good to hear! I can tell you that we have not had this kind of atmosphere since the first democratic elections in '94. I have shed quite a few tears and swallowed a few lumps in the throat tonight. To Frenchie and Rem ---- some work to do still tonight - 0-0 at half time! Wendy, as I said up-thread, my money is also on Brazil. A Spain-Brazil final will be the cherry on top. If any of you are actually watching - what do the overwhelming buzz of the Vuvuzelas do for you?
  9. Sooooo close! Still, taking Mexico (ranked 17) to a 1 all draw when we are ranked 83.... not bad! Good start to the tournament. Now I'm really looking forward to England vs USA tomorrow - should be a cracker.
  10. Seems he is a usefull rugby player too. Pic from todays The Citizen.
  11. Why do you insist on posting your normal racist drivel in a thread about one of the greatest sporting events in the world?
  12. Les Blues??? Not tonight, Josephine!. As proud as I am of what we are presenting to the world, my money is on Brazil. But don't tell anybody.
  13. I am a very proud South African tonight. I am watching what is purported to be the most widely televised concert ever, and it is truly awesome. The typical South African has always believed that imports are better than local, be it cars, TVs , music, sport. Tonight I feel liberated. Africans do not have to stand back for anyone. This is good stuff!!! I am proud.
  14. No doubt the wealthy guy will say:- "Best is to avoid having pets in the first place".
  15. Wow. And here I thought if anybody recognized anyone it would be the second man. Yes, the first man is Budd Schulberg, writer of; "On the Waterfront" and "A Face in the Crowd." Google his obit and see the hate people carried for him for over 50 years. The second man is a bit obvious. I just happen to know about Schulberg in terms of boxing. He was a correspondent for SI and he was even inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame, so I was surprised to read about him being shunned etc.
  16. Paul, are you talking about Budd Schulberg by any chance?
  17. Well, you could consider starting to hijack a few ships - working from Penzance maybe?
  18. One could, but as you well know, it doesn't happen. Andy:- Indeed, and refering to President Obama as a 'lying African' is nothing other than blatant racism.
  19. Most black Americans have never been to the continent of Africa. To what does the 'African' in African-American refer?
  20. If it's a UK inquiry then I'd expect them to go after Blair. Bush certainly factors in however. Blair's tune about how to proceed with regard to Iraq changed dramatically after he visited Bush in Texas. Mr Blair is giving evidence now. He was specifically asked about that visit. His answer, according to Sky: And answering my original question (from the same source)
  21. You mean... You mean... No.....
