Well, i just got that very same setup. My rigger told me to watch out that i don't pack the PC too bulky (which i don't do anyways), and although the container fits really tight and puts a bit of pressure on the BOC (depends on my packing, that is), it's always coming out nicely. With the handle properly in place and the PC properly stowed, there's no plroblem. The BOC itself doesn't stretch, but there's still a rubber band at the opening keeping it shut. I'm very happy with the setup because of the lower profile of the pud, it makes a smooth transition from the BOC to the side of the rig and IMHO isn't as likely to snag somewhere. Parachutes were there before planes, btw. Actually, that would also make for a good answer, too... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

Ordered one completely customized, tie-dye and all options and shit, rush order on september 5th. Was shipped from Sunrise on September 26th, arrived at my place about 2 weeks later. Edit: The two weeks saw it shipped to my dealer, from there to a buddy to me... My first jump on my then assembled rig was October 19th, pretty much exactly 6 weeks after the order, including one week with the rigger (had the canopy in a rental...). They rock. You don't really need to undo them at all if you want to _shorten_ the lines. Just thread them through the toggle grommet once or twice (maximum possible i think due to lack of space), which should shorten them up to 2,5 inches. Like that you can change the Risers quickly. When i wanted to do something dangerous for the first time i was still living at my moms house. I told her i was going to do it and she told me she didn't want me to. I told her i really wanted to do it and i would, no matter what she said. I also told her that there would have to be a point in our lives where she would not agree on what i'm doing to be a good thing, but it's living _my_ life by _my_ rules to be happy, and she agreed on that. So she let me do it(was a bungee back then). She wasn't happy with it and is still worried when i go out to skydive (if i tell her). I explained everything as good as possible, but hey, she gave birth to me and saw me live all my live, i don't think it's easy seeing all that being thrown out the door of a plane! I take the "and always take good care and be carefull" without any comment, that's just the trade. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... I was looking for a manufacturer who could get me a Container within 5/6 weeks in continental north america, beeing in Canada myself. Wanted to stick with a major brand (i'm from Germany and might return within a year) to have replacement parts available whereever i am. I had to drop my original choice due to long deliveries, so i asked around and got quite some advice to go for Wings. A good friend of mine told me that opening (mainly main-)flaps used to be an issue, but that has been resolved if it existed. I know because i own one now, and i know they are safe. Having my first deployment in that harness, i immediately thought that something was wrong. I looked up at my canopy - all there, lines in order, no spin, risers ok, toggles in place, so what's wrong? NOTHING! I was just so used to feeling my former harness by it squeezing here and there that it just felt like there was something missing. Yet the only thing missing was the squeeze, and when i re-evaluated my situation it turned from Wrong? to GREAT! I went into some nice dive turns to see what it feels like when under pressure. Didn't change that much, was still "not really there". I LOVE it!! When having it recommended to me, i didn't really know what to expect and didn't know what to think of all these reviews at DZ.com... Everyone was soooo right about the comfort and service, except that dude who was pissed by their service; i think they have among the best service out there, they even mailed me the embroidery data files so i wouldn't have to pay the digitization of my custom logo again if i should need it anywhere. I received my rig (rush service, w/ tie-dye) exactly five weeks after my order, everything fits as grown-on and it looks kick-*ss!

I don't own one, but i did like a hundred jumps on one this year ('03). It was built for someone slightly larger than me, why it was a bit squeezy in one or two places. Apart from that, it fitted nice. Got to try one more of my size once, which really felt good. Only reason i didn't have one customized for me was that i moved to Canada and had wanted to go with "Ulysses journey". When they couldn't deliver in the time i needed, i'd have gone for the Next, but was in Canada. So to escape customs & transatlantic shipping, i got a different one. Which is fine too. ;o) I didn't give it five stars because i didn't get it really comfy due to my wrong sized one (which was a demo, so not Paratecs fault). I think it's only one of two european-based C/H-Systems you should go for. And it is _very_ reasonably priced.

Well i got most of my RW training from peepz taking a jump off of their 4/8way team. They were happy to do some easy drills, i didn't even have to pay their ticket. Later on i did a sit jump w/ a newbie saying he could sit, bit it was complete crap, i wasted a ticket on that. I thought about asking him for the ticket, but thought better. I just gave back what i received (did that a couplr of times, and it started to become fun, actually...). When i learned, the DZO only let me jump w/ people good enough by then. I think there's way too much "pay so i tellya" skydiving out there. Fill people in on the risk, the measures to take and they should be fine. Mandatory SDU Jumps? Extend AFF for that or let it be. I have a 120 Main and a 135 Reserve. The manufacturer (Paratec) of my reserve uses a new fabric (completely TSO'd and exclusively licensed), which makes my 135 pack smaller than a PD 126. So the answer to your question is NO, we donot all have smaller reserves. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... I think that this is a contradiction, i saw quite experienced jumpers "almost" stall it and run out of a swoop dragging the canopy behind on the ground... But i don't want to discuss that for the reason that i didn't jump it and could only post "secondhand answers" apart from my own observation from the side of the field. They would never be accurate, as everybody has a different frame of reference. As you have obviously jumped it and seem to like it, that's probably the best proof! Well, actually i was jumping a PV "Spark" 150 before my current canopy, and the Spark was infamous for hard openings. I bought mine second-hand, so i didn't get the manual - big mistake. Once i downloaded the manual and really followed it stepwise, it gave me soft, snivelly on-heading openings _all_ the time. Another thing which helped, was stowing the stabilizers between the D and steering lines, but don't ask me _why_. So in that case, it was "performance variable", because the packer was the variable in the equation... Has to be said to be fair with PV.

Well i neither own a Mirage nor know about the unisyn mobility, but if you wrote your main on the orderform, they will most likely have checked the packing volume with the manufacturer and sized the container accordingly. Same thing with my new Wings which came last weekend. Thought i could never fit the canopy in the dbag, but eventually it worked. Suppose the stuff takes a while to "settle in". Having done military static education before AFF, i was drilled to do PLFs for two weeks by being dropped from a 10ft hanging harness (onto sawdust). One thing i noticed about most of the PLF instruction out there is that people start it off of their feet, standing. This is completely wrong, as you will have to bend your ankle to start the roll. Imagine that at high speed and waste the ankle... --> Try to get it on your side, as it will gently lead you into the rolling motion and bleed off the impact force.

I haven't jumped it myself, way too little experience, so read it with that in mind. I've seen some people jump it at my former DZ (Spa/Belgium). Two of them were hurt under it, one scattered his upper leg, the other just tore the arm. I wasn't there to see it myself (luckyly), either. I don't know how many jumps each had, but one was close to 900 and the other a tandem instructor, so no 200+ jump wonders. They had been flying HP canopies before. And i saw a steering line of a PV HP canopy (not sure if it was a Demon, but it was the PV Demo guy) rip on final, wiping the jumper (who is used to jumping it) out pretty ugly, but he was lucky and walked away (3 meters from the taxiway...). The next time i saw him(this May), he had his leg in bandage, but i don't know from what, so he might have fallen of a ladder. From what i've seen, it pretty much always looks like stalling at high speeds in the middle/end of the swoop, having a very jittery leading edge. Most guys having jumped it liked it a lot, but some also didn't quite trust it. My "second-hand" feedback. No warranties, just what i think. You wanted to know... Remember, i never jumped it... Well, you need a reference to move on, to see if you're falling in place, how your track is etc. That would be a coach. Try to get your rating to go with others quickly, because then you will get that reference, too. Once you can do that, there are tons of drills you can do to improve your belly skills. One thing you can try on your own immediately is doing fast, aggressive turns and immediate stops, which might help increase your overall awareness and control. Like i.e. try a really fast 360s. That's safer on your own and better for a coaches chin... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not really, just pack it nice and flat, then keep the whole thing in your hand "grabbing" the s-folds one at a time. You'll end up having your PC and bridle in one hand and having the other one free to stuff it in nice and clean(why, the bridle is still attached of course!!). Most stuff always sounds easy, hehehe. i read the red one should be ok, i guess it's the "general", but outdoor should do the trick too. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

Yep, outside and s-folded. Theory is that like this it will not knot (knot not?) the PC in the BOC locking it in case of a horseshoe. Add: This is why i tend to care that my bridle attachement point is on the same side as the handle (hackey, mf, pud, whatever), so the PC will "deploy" right out of the pocket (if pulled by the bridle or let go of handle) and not have to "roll out" first. Get the idea? Sorry i don't have alink to the packing method depicted. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Well, due to this thread and having my new container assembled right about now, i asked my rigger what to do. He said he wouldn't really worry as Scotch guard is not an aggressive substance, and you will not _soak_ your rig and only need to apply it (if wanted at all) to the exposed parts. So applying one or two thin coats over the outside of the rig will be enough and won't hurt the container. He thought it was an ok idea and put the scotchguard right on my bill...
