More or less the tourist stuff... Antigua Guatemala and Peten Itza/Tical. But i really enjoyed it, it was the best holiday i ever had, travelling MEX and GUAT for 6 weeks after high school.

They are that hip strap not originating at the corner of the container nut somewhat set-in towards the spine thing. Serves the purpose that it's more comfy bcause it forms more natural around your body. Can be dangerous for the lower ribs on very hard openings i heard. I personally have been jumping a Jav for three years and wanted to get an odyssey. didn't order because of the long wait and got a Wings instead. BUT even while i was still planing on buying a SP product, i reconed that the main flap is not an up-to-date design anymore, so you can't really say it is "far superior to the rest of the market" imho. Well, i use this setup and they have a slight difference in volume and a different sound. The difference in sound is not too big, but it seems to be a slightly different frequency. You can tell them apart quite well. And yes, they will differ a bit when at set altitude. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... If i got it right, it was redesigned from scratch so it doesn't (shouldn't?) collapse anymore. So basically it is a new canopy design, but it's marketed under the same name. IMHO pretty stupid when a canopy is known to collapse... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Well, different canopies, different measuring methods = different pack volumes. Had a J1 with a 150, fitted just fine. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

I've been following this thread and the little subthreads on color designer, order forms and dealer dialogue are messing me up quite a bit. Now let me see if i can sum it up right; You used an order form that was not from PD but by some unspecified dealer. Then you used this orderform printout to order the canopy from a dealer who sent that to PEC who sent it to PD. PEC wasn't sure if the colors were riight, so they checked back with dealer #1, who confirmed them being correct. PEC checked the form and wanted cash ahead. Right so far? IF so, dealer #1 is the person who messed up, if not by correctly transcribing the colors then in not relaying the question from PEC to you. IMHO PEC should not have done anything else. They received an unusual order, checked back and got an ok. Dealer #1 did not do this. His fault. My two ¢ The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. That's very good advice. When i'm nervous ahead of a jump, i close my eyes and concentrate on my body's feeling, where my muscles are under tension, i try to relax them (focus!) and whether i breathe calm. Then i start a backward count, opening the eyes at zero and i usually feel much better then. HTH The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... First ever jump- where can I do it again?!
Chrisky replied to MiniClaire's topic in Introductions and Greets
Well, i know two good and quite cost-effective DZs from personal experience; One is the Skydivecenter Spa in Belgium, they ususally charge about 1450/1500 EUR for AFF. The other DZ is Skydive Portugal which is one of the safest DZs i have ever seen. When i was there, a british instructor had two students with him, if you go to their website might know who from britain is jumping there occasionally. I have no idea what that might cost, but it's a damn good DZ. -
Oh, and the openings are just right. quick, yet gentle, but not hard. Just to add to my praise... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

I don't imply that you are ignorant or stupid, who am i to? Well, where exactly did you get that orderform/color selector for PD canopies from? If it wasn't the dealer where you ordered it, you're boned. I just took a look at Square2, they have the orderforms as PDFs as it is pretty much standard for orderforms on the web, and its labelled #1 in center. But if it was a fancy interactive canopy designer, the website operator usually has to remap the output of the designer application to the manufacturers orderform. And if its a different dealer, he can't remap. Just my 2 ¢ The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Just ordered a Wings myself, you can get it cheaper at one of the bigger dealers and they usually have a monthly special option they're giving away cheaper or free. For example Square2 offers it at 1072.50 USD ATM Some people complained that the cordura BOC will not keep the PC in place as well as the spandex will. I'll see if that's true if combined with the freefly pud. Looking at your profile, what sizes of canopies have you been jumping until now? because if you already see a downsizing upcoming in like 40-60 jumps, i'd rather wait as long and then get a right sized container instead of having it under a too high pressure. It's not just about a tough packjob and optics, it's about safety, too. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Well, that may be true for PD, my manufacturer had them labelled (front view) left to right. But i got the orderform from the manufacturers website and gave it to my dealer. My lesson i learned from a different, very stupid thing: Always try doing things idiotproof and have others check your own input, so you are not the source... Hope this doesn't get across mean, i don't intend to. We all make mistakes like this. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... I've been jumping a "next" for about 60-70 jumps this year, its a very good container, safe for all aspects of modern flight. I had already made my decision back then on ordering a Javelin (which didn't work out in the end but that's a different story) and moved to Canada now, which is why i got a Wings. Had i still been in Germany, i'd have ordered a Next. They are quality rigs, comfy and quite cost effective. I got me a Paratec Faqtor, which is an excellent canopy, a bit more agile than the Sabre2, but very forgiving. I LOVE it. If you're also in the market for a Reserve, check out their Speed 2000, ti's made from a new material (stronger+ smaller packing). Mine is 135 sqft and packs smaller than the PD 126 (My Main is 120). You might want to give them a call for a demo, or go to Spa in Belgium for a weekend, they do have a demo rig there and one of Paratecs demo team is at the DZ often. Just check with both and he wight bring you whatever size/container combo you'd like to try. From my experience, they have a very good customer serve, good delivery times (My canopy arrived in 4 weeks, custom) and quality products. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open.
