I have stayed out of this thread for obvious reasons, but I figured now I would add my $.02. Like someone already stated, 38 states (that IS 2/3) already ban Same Sex marriage. In this country Majority rules.. Anyway, I was watching crossfire last night and the same agruement came up that keeps coming up. And like always, those supporting Gay marriage had no acceptable answer. Question to those supporting Gay marriage: Since you surrort alternative lifestyles and you think that you have a "Right" to marriage (even though it is a privledge) What if I want to marry 2 other men. Why can't I. Why can't I have a loving 3 way gay relationship and raise a family and have the same rights as 2 way marriages? Answer from the Gay woman: Because you can't ... I don't agree with that. I have been reading this thread because I knew this issue would come up on DZ.com. And I also knew many people from Europe and the US wouldn't understand the significance of what happened. The facts are this: There are FCC regulations on "Free" radio and TV in the US. That is the way it is. The Superbowl used to be wholesome family entertainment free from the typical trashy cable channels. Sure, there is violence on the news, and on Cable channels, and regular broadcasts tv AFTER 8PM. BUT The SB aired at 630 EST and 330PM PST. on broadcast tv where YOUNG kids were watching. Now, when your 6 year old asked why he did that, you explain it to them. Or when he see that on tv and then does it to a 3rd grader on the bus and gets suspended. I personall was not offended, but if I had 4-8yr old kids watching and had to explain to them why it was OK for this pop star to do something like that, but not OK for them... I would be Pissed!!!! This act was clearly lude and uncalled for. It wasn't showing boobs on National Geographic, it was a young man "RIPPING" the top off an unsupecting woman. Infront of an audience of over 89million. I am soooo glad this happened!!!! I am glad because CBS and some other channels final know there is a line they can't cross. It is not, my arguement is that a great deal of people in this country want to change the system. The USA is a change to the system. If you recall this country was created to get away from the European ideas and fundamentals. George washington warning in 1797 that in the future people would try to change the foundation of the coutry through poitical means which revolutions could not change. The Ben and Jerry guys are prime examples of what capitalism is.... That is why there "Socialistic" views surprise me. If they want to donate their income to those "less fortunate" or "less motivated" to work, fine... But this isn't RobinHood. This take from the rich and give to the poor, redistribution of wealth scheme is BS. That is just my opinion of course. I will pay for my own college, my own food, my own way. And god forbid I loose my job, I won't sit around and collect the the 13 weeks of "FREE" unemployment. The problem is with social programs are.... They are not a necessity in a capitalist society. If this were a socialist country maybe. But here in the USA we were founded as a country dedicated to hard work and prosperity. That means...No free rides. We have had this debates sooo many times it makes me sick. I started jumping 2 years ago at another dropzone, but SDLI was close by, and this year I spent 90% of my jump time there. The guys and gals at SDLI are great and are always willing to help you out or go up for some RW. I have definately made some friends at SDLI and can't wait until spring comes. There is also a lot of variety in jumpships. This summer alone I jumped out of a Porter, a 207, a Grand Caravan, a skyvan, and got a Helicopter jump in too. It is a great place to take newbies or to take Skygods. The sunset loads with ocean and long Island sound views can't be beat.

Why? Why would we have heard about it in the american press? I think you will be hearing a lot of interesting stuff coming out in the next 6mo or so. It is tough to get people to talk especially when they believe thay still may be killed. As a meteorologist I have seen pics of stuff like this before. It appears to be a test for cloud seeding. In the past seeding was popular to try an promote cloud development by putting up "Condensation Nucleus" for latent moisture to condense on. Recent test are being performed to do the opposite. Seeding storms to deter their development. There is thought that seeding hurricanes before they approached land would help to minimize their impact. Often when doing these test they use "Strato-deck clouds" because they are easily measured. Due to their thin size and relatively regular density, it is easy for meteorologists to determine the volume of ice/h20 they are testing. Quade is right, the stuff in the middle is "Verga" but it does not appear to be natural verga. What you are seeing is the reaction of the H2O and (what ever chemical they use) to artificially evaporate the moisture. THe reason the Verga appears to be lower than the cloud deck is because the water and chemical combine to become less buoyant then the moisture in their surrounding environment. I have an interesting question. People are bitching that 11K people were killed by guns in the USA last year. How many of those deaths were while commiting a crime?
