Canopy destruction/safe landing with reserve - Ukraine, April, 29
GravityGirl replied to Hagen's topic in Gear and Rigging
Yeah, but it also looks like less than a 3 second track from the JM. It even looks like he pulled before he stoped and squared off. That would creep me out big time if I did that on my Velo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
That seriously sucks! I'll keep my eyes out for your gear here in Nor Cal. Velo's are hard to keep low profile. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Canopy destruction/safe landing with reserve - Ukraine, April, 29
GravityGirl replied to Hagen's topic in Gear and Rigging
Just as an FYI, I like to change Vectran lines about every 400 jumps. 600 for Spectra lines. The Velo has Vectran. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -

Shopping for first container/Opinions on Wings
GravityGirl replied to matt1215's topic in Gear and Rigging
It's a good solid product. Super comfortable. And as far as I know, they are the only manufacturer at the moment that is offering the military discount. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -

Would you participate in an All-Around Skydive event?
GravityGirl replied to IMGR2's topic in The Bonfire
That sounds pretty cool. Would we have to have our own CRW canopies? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
Motorcycle guys/girls: where's the best place to get a basic bike?
GravityGirl replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
One of my AFF students owns a Harley Davidson store in Walnut Creek California. I sent some friends there and she totally hooked them up. She might be able to get a handle on a good used bike. But you'll have to come to Cali to get it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
looking for a swoop altimeter/warning device

I'm truely an analog girl, but the Viso has temping features that I just can't pass up! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
I travel frequently with multiple rigs. Rigs are pretty durable when they are all packed up. I have a big roll-a-board that holds two rigs. It's soft. I just pack my clothes and stuff in between. You may want to put a tag right on the inside that says something like: "ATTN TSA: This bag contains parachuting equipment. This equipment is a life saving devise. Tampering or damage to this equipment could result in serious injury or death to the user. If you have any questions, please page: JEN XXXXX or call me on my cell: XXXXXXXX. Thank you for your consideration in this serious matter. I appreciate your efforts." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

GravityGirl replied to skydiveaddict's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I'm sure it will be worth waiting for. So far all of the new products they have released are supurb. I'm pretty excited about the Viso though. I can't wait. The AltiTrack is shipping this week! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -

Does anyone know the skydiver that went by the name 'FLASH'?

Choosing The Size of Reserve to Buy...
GravityGirl replied to somethinelse's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Agreed with the 1:1 range. But keep in mind if this is a smaller jumper, bigger is not always better. If the 190 is the suitable size main, then the reserve should be compatible with that main. Depending on your exit weight that could mean a 176 - 210. So what IS your exit weight? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
I see no snag factors there. The Mindwarp is forever changing. Minor adjustments here and there. I have several in my shop with slight differences such as the chin strap attachment. I have had no customer complaints or known issues with any versions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

The only problem with that theory is that many jumpers don't have the luxury of jumping at a big drop zone or close to one. So being able to jump several types of modern containers is not an option. It is good advise. Just not always applicable. That being said, both Mirage and Voodoo are excellent choices. Some Similarities: Enclosed pop tops on the reserve. Main pin protection closes up. Great riser coverage. Solid reserve pilot chute springs. Some Differences: Minor differences in packing methods. Ask your rigger if he has packed both. Asthetics. Which do you like the look of better? And yes, we can get that picky. Price breakdown. Voodoo is all inclusive with only a couple of cost options. Mirage has a lot of cost options. You can get as much or as little as you like. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
