  1. The yoke is the hardes part to adjust. The actual backpad and riser covers are cut out based on the yoke size. It's not like adjusting the harness. You would have to rebuild the rig. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. Did you look here? http://www.tonysuits.com/specialty.php4 If you want an actual swatch, PM me your snail mail and I'll send one to you. Then you can see and feel the actual fabric. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. Because the reason you would jump a Crossfire2 is likely because you want to do high performance landings. In order to do a high performance landing you have bring it up to a desent wing loading. It will ease the front riser pressure and the loading will keep you in the dive long enough to build up speed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  4. Oh. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Guess I won't be joining any knitting clubs soon. I would hate to double my odds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. Check out Tony Suits. They have all sorts of crazy fabric you can use on your grips. And grips are not made from cordura. They are made from Polycotton. www.TonySuits.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. Oh. I will!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. Because at Perris or Elsinore, you don't have 1,000 people all camped out together for 10 days, waking up to the same nostalgic song. Not just socializing at the bar after, but truely living together as a community. Eating Carbone Zone food, listening to live music every night, jumping with people from all over the world. It's just cool that's all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. I think they are going for light weight. And the surgical tubing (Tube Stow) is more pliable between your fingers. Also, it's easy to change with the velcro strap. In fact you can interchange with a bigger or smaller loop. I too was shocked at the weight difference. But It's not a bad thing. I'll beat the hell out of one for a while and report back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  9. Perhaps they are confusing the Titanium with Gold. It sort of looks gold in some lighting. In any case, I haven't heard of a gold one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  10. If a Navigator stalls easily, then I would say with some certainty that the brake lines are too short. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. Did the harness fit you well? The one that was hard to flare? Were the toggles hard to reach? What type of canopy? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  12. Here is a thought for the day. There are so many new/er up and coming jumpers that are in a rush to cut out the middle man when purchasing skydiving equipment. I suppose the theory is that skydiving is like the real world and cutting out the middle man (or woman ;) will certainly get them the bigger, better deal. My very biased view point is, "That is absolutely false." In this industry, the only thing you are cutting out is an added layer for service and education. As a dealer of most skydiving products, my price is the same, if not better than most manufacturers direct. And many manufacturers won't sell direct. What myself and other dealers bring to the table is the next level of education and service. When a student is dumped into "solo status", they no longer have the exclusive guidance from their instructors. I read post, after post, after post about how confusing and conflicting new and used gear choices are. And they are right. The simple solution is to sit down with your local gear dealer and get a full gear consultation. If your DZ or Club does not offer this servcie, there are several dealers on the web that offer gear consultations on the phone or web at no charge. The better deal is getting better educated about the products you are shopping for. Just my perspective. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  13. Okay. But I think a Jedei is too aggressive for you right now. LOL. Joke. I find that in the www market both the Sabre2 and the Pilot are easily resaleable canopies. Particularly 170 or 190. So not too much worry about that. Good luck in your quest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  14. IMHO as a gear dealer and an AFF-I, I suggest you don't limit your choices to a specific brand when purchasing used for your first canopy. There are many great canopies out there. With your initial light wing loading of 1:1, the slight difference in flight charactoristics may not be too noticable. Some good choices include, but are not limited to: Silhouette Spectre Sabre2 Lotus Safire Omega Pilot Triathalon Synergy Keep in mind wing loading. Have a rigger and/or insturctor make sure your brake lines are not too short. If you have not having issues with your landings, it 170 is a decent choice. Keep in mind, it's not a good idea to jump from the 288 to the 170. Do a few jumps on each progression. 260, 230, 210, 190. If each set of jumps feel good. You are confident, comfortable and in control, then proceed. If you have any hang ups or issues, just sit on that size until you dial it out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! 15. You say, "By the 3rd one, my legs were all over the place." Maybe you were tired. A good body position means you are engaging the hips and legs throughout the skydive. That position takes time before it feels natural. Try two a day for now until you become accustomed to freefall. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. Didn't mean to come across as assumptive. I was just basing that on the UK jumpers that I know. Many travel during the winter, but many have real jobs and take a few months out in the winter. I'm sure you are a VERY commited bunch to brave the year 'round climate over there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  17. Since most of your skydivers go uncurrent every year due to weather, I would expect that more checks and balances are a good thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. That would be before you factor in the costs for design, digitizing, and screen costs. It's also for white t-shirts, and not all brands. Even still. It's a good mark-up item when you produce a decent quantity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. Don't forget your local gear dealer. That is the service they are meant to provide. Consult, materials, designs, manufacturers, color, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  20. Measure yourself per the web sites of the container brands you want to purchase. At least you will be armed with the proper size harness while you shop. Second, as long as you find a rig where the yoke fits, find a good master rigger that might be able to do some harness work for you. Main lift web and leg straps. Leg straps are pretty easy. You shouldn't have too much difficulty finding a good master rigger in Florida. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. Retail on a 100% cotton t with multiple color print is generally $18 - $20 for a short sleeve. A basic 50/50 white T with one or two colors would go for $10 - $15. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

  23. That was a quote from one of my teammates of years past. It was created when we were talking about knitting my bones back together. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. Sounds like you already know what's up. This is not a knitting club, the consequenses for poor choices can be quite grave. If you jump her rig, practice all of the practical stuff you need to learn anyways. Diving down to a formation, docks and tracking, tracking, tracking. But if you want to start freeflying, get the right equipment for the job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. You are not the one that had two out last weekend, are you? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
