ok - point partly taken. why not fully? imagine i made a post titled "interesting read", then put in the same stuff in it and then asking for opinions would you put more "trust" in my post than in this one or would my post have a different meaning? as for his posts being controversial: that depends on your (or my) point of view. if you like to you can read the original post as an attempt to point out certain issues in the states, but at the same time it could be applied to any present day country (even my own - well not all of the points but some....) That said people really should be REQUIRED to fill out their info at least somewhat. Lets the rest of us know who you are and what your deal is. *** that's the crucial point - i can fill the form with any information i want to. i could make up a personality without anybody knowing that i'm faking. so you might say that i provide you with my license number - what if i haven't got a uspa-number for you to look up? what if i choose to leave my name blank or use a name i made up? do i have to be a skydiver to post here? heck no! how many people post an dz.com on a regular basis with hardly 20 jumps? just some food for thought The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

not putting any personally Info in their profile *** you know what really sucks? basing credibility on things like jump numbers, license number, home-dz (you name it) in a forum where being a skydiver is more or less unimportant if i take a brief look in the profiles of _many_posters in dz.com it really looks like the _the_ place for people with more posts than jumps so to jump up for him (or any other poster) who for whatever reason there might be, has no interest in filling out their absolutely fake-proof dz-profile – the habit of flaming somebody for named reasons sucks BIG TIME The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

last year two "old" guys started training at our school (we do tandem-progression). one was 64, the other 55+. what they had in common were their difficulties of self-perception and body-coordination. for these two reasons we took them with us to the paris tunnel (you know - learning to fly stable in a non stress environment - you don't have to deal with pulling or flying/landing a canopy) for training. to make the story short - it didn't help much. the older one finally quit, the other went to a different school, where he thought he'd make better progress (which in fact he didn't. last news from september had it, that he's still doing AFF). so my questions are: do you have an age-limit for your students? what do you look for before you decide to start training older students? when do you decide to tell a student he'll never be able to jump alone and therefore he should quit?
