Bump & Update Just last weekend i had the opportunity to use & jump with y-mod equipped passenger-harnesses. handling and fitting is easy (in fact a no-brainer), the only difference is how the pax can move once the canopy is open. with the old setup you could tell your pax to move their legs slightly backward enabling them to sit more comfortably, with the y-mod this isn't possibly any more... An Aboriginal elder, sat in his humpy eyeing two government officials sent to interview him. One official said to him, "You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances. You've seen his progress, and the damage he has done." The elder nodded in agreement. "Considering all these events," the official continued, "in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?" The elder stared at the two government officials for over a minute, then calmly replied: "When white man found the land, Aboriginals were running it. No taxes. No debt. Plenty kangaroo. Plenty fish. Women did all the work. Medicine man free. Aboriginal man spent all day hunting and fishing, all night having sex." Then the elder leaned back and smiled before adding, "Only white man bloody stupid enough to think he could improve system like that." ditto what else: • like in every other group there's a bunch of people whose egos are bigger then their knowledge/abilities • that most newbies in her are to lazy to use the search function • personally: that sifting through tons of trash is worth the gems of knowledge to be found The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

passengers didn't mind in the past, they don't mind now & they won't mind in the future.... been there done that. just to be told to mind my own fuckin business. now we have a solution to a problem that wouldn't exist if some TI's had a different attitude ("I'm a mean mofo of a meathauler, ya know?....... ) towards their students/passengers and towards safety issues beyond getting stable with the help of their drogue The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

so UPT came up with something similar? The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

As some of you might have noticed Strong came up with a modification their passenger harness. Obviously a reaction to the last tandem fatality. On the positive side: With this modification the chance of a passenger slipping out of a harness is eliminated. BUT: The problem wouldn't have to be solved if TI's were dressing up their students properly in the first place . and i bet I'll still see sloppy geared up passengers in the company of variously rated TI's this summer Now for the "negative" side: With this fix lard-assed people won't fit into the harness, thus no more extreme overweight passengers so what do you think about it? skydancing, Pat Works, Skratch... today?
feuergnom replied to ScratchTX's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i stumbled over skratch's homepage a few years ago - ever since he's one of the people i'd really like to meet and jump with (that doesn't meen theres not a bunch of others i'd like to meet in person). even if it means travelling to the states so you're a lucky man to know them The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666 -

First thing to learn and accept before even thinking of becoming a TI: Change this attitude. I am serious. PERIOD! The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666 -
we had our safety day yesterday and used portions of your presentation - thanks to your in depth analysis we had some intersting discussions involving newly minted and seasoned jumpers. oddly enough even "old timers" have some serious issues regarding separation questions The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

as my career as a TI started last year, the answer would be: none so far. but as a vidiot i have seen my fair share of pax' that weren't enjoying their ride thats what I use to tell the nervous ones The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

i just wanted to renew my membership online - only to find out that to renewing ratings requires a print out of a pdf-form to be sent via mail so much for easy renewal /rant/venting done/ The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666 -
to be more precise: a pax knows before bording, that he has the opportunity to stay with me in the plane if he/she doesn't want to jump. i ask them once on the way to alti if they want and once when the doors opens. the only reason to go with a pax yelling "NOOOOOOO!" is when we are already in the door - then it's too late baby....... i had one pax freak out in freefall (it was my first day of jumping paying customers!), legs and arms all around right when we left the plane, so i had quite something to do before i got evrything under control and the drogue set as she wasn't very cooperative i decided to end the dive and pulled high in 9 grand did i hate it? no. because i learned to always expect the unexpected, to be prepared and to handle the situation The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

i do beg your pardon? leaving the plane with a resisting pax/student is - afaik - in no way by any "book" regarding passenger procedures. when the green light comes i always ask: do you want to jump? if its yes and we are in the door we go. if its a "no" and we ae still seated, we'll ride the plane down. period! No 1) thats LUTZ! do a forum search, this guys jump has been discussed ad nauseum and he's been declared dumbest skydiver ever. no 2) guy lighting his chute - old vid, but still: dumb fucker no 3) guys entering plane in freefall: old vid,worldclass-flying, don't try this at home, no 4) nice vid, didn't know that one The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

shouldn't we take discussions of the inferiority/superiority of certain tandem brands to gear and rigging? we could also resurrect some old threads I think it's great that finally a strong representative made it to dz.com!
