  2. we never met, we rarely comunicated in the forums and still, after hesitating for three days to write there's still tears coming up and i know that i will miss someone very special The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  3. fo i do not have any in depth knowledge about the sigma system i will not make any judgements btw: this whole arguement reminds me of the discussions computer-geeks have all the time when it comes to choosing between mircosoft, linux, apple et all The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  4. my nitro has around 500 jumps, i never pull the slider over the stops and from my experience there is no significant wear on the lines The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  5. what are you trying to proove? if i had to choose between a vector and a dual hawk, i'd take the strong rig without a blink The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  6. slightly off-topic: automobile is in fact an odd mixture off greek and latin. for the lingofreaks it should be either ipsomobil (latin) or autokineton (greek) The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  7. unbiased opinions on dz.cpm? you gotta be joking... strong TIs think strong gear is great, the same goes for vector, sigma, next, PDF, racer et all... get the rating for the main system on your dz and stick to it for a long time The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  8. gear up on strong - usually by the book. extend all straps to the max, close chest & bellystrap, tighten leg-strap firmly, adjust mlw, then diagonal, backstrap is last as for tightening leg-straps: if the pax is of normal build, i prefer a snug but not to tight fit. if you get a fatty lardass: make the as tight as you can, cause the fat will compress and straps will become loose once under canopy. the last thing i'd want is a pax moving around in the harness in freefall and under canopy pics of y-strap can be found in the latest tandem-newsletter from strong edit 4 spelling The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  9. same area but not same DZ whats been bugging me for a long time was the sloppy attitude of (you can flame the shit out of me but thats what i've been seeing the last few years) mainly vector-rated TI's regarding the proper adjustment of passenger harnesses before boarding the plane. harnesses fastened hardly enough so that it didn't slip off the pax shoulders etc. last time i had my camera with me - and voila, thats this little threadie. I am damn sure there's a shitload of good TI's out there who get their stuff right. I am also damn sure there's an equal shitload of bad TI's out there who are resistant to any form of positive/constructive or even vital critique. be it in czech republic, germany, austria, GB, USA wherever The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  10. even in a slow forum like "instructors" i am happy this thread hasn't vanished within three days
  11. guess what: they boarded and jumped like this i tried to talk with the instructor examiner - but to no avail... i guess things work different outside of the U.S., the dz where i made the photo is in kunovice/czech republic The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  12. yeah i know that all i have to do is to remind them..... but all you get back is just a shrug or the usual mind your own business answer. not to speak of if you dare to point to mandatory safety bulletins ..... sadly enough this was a TI in training The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  13. care to give it a shot? (it's not the butt ) The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

  15. we are the only school in austria offering tandem progression - so far we've been teaching by this method for five years now succesfully. our course consits of three working tandems and 4 more levels where the student is accompanied by one teacher (basically aff levels 4 - 8 depending on progression/abilities) pro's: - students get excellent canopy skills within their first three jumps - usually they are very relaxed and self confident once they switch so levels 4-8 with a single teacher. they know how to turn & stop. higher levels include saltos and docking, dive exits etc. con's: - you have to be a bullet proof TI willing to do more than the usual "ass-hauling-job" and have an AFF-rating to teach this method in autria- so this limits the teaching-staff to two persons at our school which makes trainig a bit slow sometimes - working tandems from 3500 meters won't do it. so i guess it's not the method of choice for cessna 182/206 dz's - try to get a floater exit out of these ones... 20. most of the freefliers i know are really crappy on their bellies. if you take a chance and invite them for some belly-fun they are constantly backsliding and afterwards they complain that we can't hold the place some of these guys can't even fly a decent track maybe i'm old fashioned but i think good old rw is the base to develop other styles. at least you lern how to behave in the close proximity to others The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  21. over in ther german forum we are having some discussions wether a mamba (like the 117 sqft model) might be suited for ws-flying or not. if find the thought very disturbing (to be straight forward: i think its ridiculous), others don't seem to think of it as a problem at all. so i'm shopping for some thoughts from you experienced guys. thx for input The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  22. just got the pic from the blind girl i jumped with - just had to share it The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  23. who is "us"? as for "credible info" - there are various reasons for not completing a profile and for leaving certain elements blank. one of them being trolling. you still have the opportunity _not_ to respond to certain threads The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  24. two weeks ago we had a group of four (3 guys one girl) blind passengers plus one of their trainers. the three guys were completely blind, the girl had something like 5 percent vision (dark-light sensibility only in the near proximity) left. i had the pleasure to jump with the girl. we took a lot of time for briefing & the gear up. we also "showed" the our systems, let the participate in the packing process and all of the were extremely interested in the details. also extra time was spent with boarding - feel where the door is, where to sit, what was not to touch (well eventually they had to touch it, so they knew where not to put hands/hold on once in flight) etc. on the way to alti i tried to describe what was outside - that was about the hardest part. exit and freefall were without any hassle - i wish some of the seeing passengers had so much awareness
  25. what did you puton video - the valkyries? The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
