It depeds which line is broken. Line are not equal....
-
We don't use it. I heard about a line over last time 2 years ago and it was a guest jumper.

How to make a snow angel / Visiting Brokeback Mountain
phoenixlpr replied to unclecharlie95's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Do you mean that he was the first landing a wingsuit?[/;)] -
I've seen something similar on an Atom rig. Both handles seemed to be metal, but covered with textile.

You can not get your gear together without it, so you would pay almost anything for that.

Rear riser landing with brakes stowed - good idea or bad idea?
phoenixlpr replied to mik's topic in Safety and Training
You may have 120 seconds before landing. You have gloves on and altimeter on your left wrist. Is restowing a real option? -
Rear riser landing with brakes stowed - good idea or bad idea?
phoenixlpr replied to mik's topic in Safety and Training
I did before and that was stupid. A canopy with control problems is not perfect. I hate to see people getting hurt or hospitalized because they are more interested in mid-aid rigging or doing stupid stunts they have not practiced before. Have you ever practiced landing a canopy with one open break, other is stowed and flare with rears? -
Rear riser landing with brakes stowed - good idea or bad idea?

Disagree. I go for plan B if I have one brake open and other is jammed. Rear riser landing are for a clean and fine situation. -
Rear riser landing with brakes stowed - good idea or bad idea?
phoenixlpr replied to mik's topic in Safety and Training
I think we have that friend in common. She did the right thing. There is a good reason to carry a reserve canopy and that was the right call. She has released the left toggle and could not release the right. Flairing that canopy with one break open, other is stowed and do with a risers could be really tricking. There was a risk to turn into terrain or have a stall. -
Article on landing wingsuit w/o parachute
phoenixlpr replied to gottabefunky's topic in Wing Suit Flying
So you think my plan wouldn't work? I bet we see this happen successfully within 2 years. Why none is interested in jumping out from airplane with any canopy or wingsuit and land alive? -
I'd say not much use of rears on landing on a canopy with positive recovery. It makes sense to get out a canopy from dive with rears if the canopy would stay in dive anyway.

If you can find a rigger who is willing to replace the kill-line. Its about $5.

I got a couple jumps with my Cobalt 135. My WL was 1.6+, it opened with some closed end cells. I've got it relined recently with Vectran 750. I opens harder than before. I got 2 jumps since than. I pulled that it was a small pull 1..2..3..4..5..WHAMMMM. I choose to open from full flight, I think I make less turbulence than slowing the suit down. I have opened from full flight. My Triathlon with Dacron lines opens lot softer. Oh, I jump a Stealth these days.

hard opening, magnetic slider retainer?
phoenixlpr replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hi, Has anyone any experience with the subject? What should be the right pull force for the magnets? Should the magnets used against the rings inside of the slider stops only or should be the magnets placed on the canopy too? -
Are you in a hurry? Accuracy is a classic disciplines. BTW. What do you think you most people sets his/her bakes on the ground/floor? Sure, we could even have several cat eyes like some BASE jumpers does.

I've seen lips of my friends turning purple just ridding a Caravan to 4000m without door....just 15 min from the ground level...
-
Thank you for your valuable contribution for this discussion!
-
Why do you want to do it? You just loose the possibility that you can adjust you break setting for opening.
-
That's what I did and got 3x knot om my bridle. I open and used to open from full flight.
-
Is that a pissing contest who can say bigger numbers?
-
How about going fast before opening? It that canopy is designed for terminal opening why to throw it into some slow turbulent mess? Get some horizontal speed and open from full flight.
