Recovery Arcs on intermediate canopies.

Somewhere around Cobalt Comp., Crossfire2, Katana. -
Recovery Arcs on intermediate canopies.
phoenixlpr replied to DebaucheroRdrgz's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
There is only one(2) trim char for Cobalt canopies, so I don't think lines would be longer on competition model. -
Recovery Arcs on intermediate canopies.

Triangulated ( H-modded, restricted) nose. That makes the airfoil even more rigid and the recovery even longer than that standard. I can not compare to anything, because I have not jumped anything else on that wing load. I think it works fine, it opens OK, flies great and it has a nice flare on WL 2.2+. -
There are 3 very important things that are similar between a Sabre2 and a Sabre1: 1. They both have 9 cells 2. They are both called Sabre 3. They are/were both made by PD. That's basically where the similarities end. 4. There are some small issues on some canopies on opening.
-
Dream on! i cant see any reason for sharing beer with you. I'd rather watch you packing your brand new Sabre2 and enjoy the show.
-
I was not talking about the PD website. Then go to your DZ and ask people around there. Or you can do a search here with Sabre2 vs .. X, Z.... No thanks, this was not about beer at all. Anyway I would not buy a new canopy as my first.....

accidental AAD activation on ground with bag & vacuum cleaner
phoenixlpr replied to pchapman's topic in Gear and Rigging
Nice example of creative stupidity. -
What is wrong asking a stupid question? Is the most popular canopy of the biggest manufacturer a good one? What is going to be changed if you read more about it?
-
This sound really stupid. There are other canopies in the same class and those are in the same price range too..... Why don't you buy it if you have decided already? How about demo canopies instead of nagging?

High enough for avoid controlled flight into terrain.

5 Hertz GPS logging available! (5 plots/sec in a bluetooth puck)
phoenixlpr replied to mdrejhon's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I prefer MTKII based loggers. i-Blue 747A+ Bluetooth GPS Logger, 66 channels, AGPS Qstarz BT-Q1000X Bluetooth GPS Data Logger -66 Channels -
So? Now you can wonder why its recommended to have 75 WS flight even before you try.
-
Sure, but can you eat with a knife in the left if you are holding your fork in the right?
-
Thats fine and im sure very fun, but if someone with a tracking suit can stay up with what we are calling a WS world record, it kind of takes some of the point out of it. Im pretty split on the whole flocking vs. non flocking issue. I agree with Tony and Yuri that these suits are meant to fly, and nothing to me in the world is more fun than a ws base jump off a huge cliff in the back country. I also enjoy flocking with large groups and have been lucky to be on some cool stuff at lodi. Im torn weather to be excited by this thread or mindlessly bored. I really enjoy to fly 200Km/h (horizontal) and over, but that has nothing to do with flocking. If I fly with a formation I don't really care how slow we go, nothing compares to a high 5 after a good jump.

There could be P2s out without zipper, some of those might be even for sale.

Swoop specific weight belt reccomendations
phoenixlpr replied to rhys's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I have tried a fitness weight belt with moderate success. It has weight pockets on the back side too, so it was not really comfortable to wear. I got some ankle weights too. Those are 1 Kg each. It was quite OK to jump with that. I think I did only H&P with those. -
No one made it back. -Blind Damn, you should have able to!
-
Sounds interesting. For them its just you are staying away from the line of the jump run. For yourself: you suppose to be flying between your exit and the spot for deployment. This does not sound like a bright excuse. If everyone else can land in, you should be able to land in too. You should be able to fly 3-5 Km before deployment in any winds. I got lots of jumps in Hanko. Winds are usually on the high side. There is a golf course on the north from the airfield than lots of forest and some random fields here and there. I have not landed put there ever...
-
How many times have you landed off? what was the reason of landing off? Are you wearing a flotation west in case you might land in water? Are your clothes fireproof? .... I'd rather carry a mobile phone and a cheap headlight with strobe functions.

Re: [The111] Fatality - Tampa Bay, FL - 20 Jan 2010

Does the concept "relative to the mass of air" means anything to you? Never mind. Birds do not understand the physics of flying either, but they can fly. -

On the runway? It would take more ground speed to take off, although the air speed meter would show the very same value. How come? E.g. 300ft/min would be in any direction. Remember. Your wing flies relative to the air, not to the ground. -
Have you ever tried to search here? There were discussions and comparisons since it has been released. That was one of the reason I bought one in 2004.
-
Don't know, no numbers were given in the proposal, I just used the green shaded boxes from their figure. All my points fit in their green boxes. Regardless - ANY local evaluation method allows the accumulation of errors. It's fundamental to the method. Why a record should be single dimensional? Than why not summarize the errors and distortions? You can compare two or more formation. E.g. record for shape "A" with errors of "X" If some group can do shape "A" with errors of "Y" where Y < X, there is a new record.
