IV. Wingsuit Boogie and Competition HUNGARY
phoenixlpr replied to Csaber's topic in Wing Suit Flying
You know Pergar Bozidar got a nickname Zeppelin for some reason. -
I did try with a new canopy. There are other ways to bag a canopy: I do like this.. I saw a Kung Fu method yesterday, but I don't have it on video. Nothing is wrong with PRO-packing, just he classic S-folding is dumb. I see people keep on forcing it and they never learn for their mistakes. Packing is just another religion: you need rules, technique, faith, a preacher and some kneeling.

Serious question? You've not pyscho packed? The parachute is flaked like a PRO pack but the tail isn't rolled after bringing it up. The psycho overview: Turn the parachute around and place it nose-up on the floor. Pull the tail-ends across and purge the air. Fold in the sides and roll that sucker up. Bag it and rotate it back to the 'normal' position for stowing lines. Sound like a PRO pack? If you watch the video you will see how it works. FYI I have tried. Rolling is not any better, easier folding a new canopy. If your canopy flowing out under your knee than you do you think it would be easier to roll several layers in a controlled manner. Only different thing is the rolling up part. The flip is just for practical reasons. Have you ever tried to jump hop and pop with a hat on your head? You are going to lost it unless you hold it on. So I doubt that rolling would have difference compared to S-folding. Do you know how the brake chutes are packed for airplanes? Hint: they don't get folded or rolled. So than what "makes" it open better than PRO-pack? Positive thinking or placebo effect. If you pychopack than you can feel like unique or at least cool. Things tend to work better if you believe in them. Canopies tend to be work better if you are more relaxed.

??? Wear by walking? Wear by landing? Or what?
-
Here is mine. It was not spinning too fast. I got altitude and nerves to try out things there.
-
So what are those steps?

Landing patterns and defensive flying.

You can call it off or just getting a decent separation. -
Not to mention this is as gear related as the color of the pull-up cord.

Yet another meaningless poll. Why meaningless? I jump at a DZ that requires them. I've always had one, one friend chose to jump there and had to have his Sweathog retro-fitted, and another friend that now only jumps 2 hours down the road at a DZ that does not require them. I was curious about the answer. As I presume that in addition to your snide comment you chose to express in your reply, that you chose not vote, I will suffer from slightly less information on the subject. JW As useful as having a poll: "Is your DZ windy?" Yes/No/Oh yeah....

Yet another meaningless poll.

I discussed this with my first instructor long ago. I was told the the line set on skydiving canopies does not allow to create this kind of deadly warp, although it might be done with paragliding equipment.
-
You can call it lazy or reasonable. I assume same size of risers are used on both gear. It is faster to swap with risers than open and hook up 8 pieces of line attachment.
-
It takes a single landing on power lines to destroy it.
-
Is that really needed? Why don't you land in water involuntarily? Because 99% you can fly to the land. Do you have procedures landing on trees? For the record I usually jump near lakes and had exit several times over the see. I got only one off field landing which was not planned so far.

It is a decent canopy. Not ideal for fun jumpers, but one of the best for Demos. Still a good canopy for Demos and accuracy. The GK's still jump them and I dare you to find a more professional demo team. To the OP... I have maybe 1k jumps on Sharpchuters and Trac I's. Do you have specific questions? If I were doing a Demo, I'd rather have the Trac I than anything else. It can open harder than most people are ready for, but you can honestly back them up even with really light winds, and you can stall them all day long and they inflate again on heading. They can be used for CRW, Demos, beginner accuracy, and freefall. The life of the canopy matters... F111 does not last as long as ZP and performance suffers. Good Morning America!

Ontario man survives harrowing skydiving mishap

You mean the top nominee for the 2010 Darwin Award Candidate? Notice that he is alive. -
I'd rather say a square or semi-elliptical canopy, WL
-
Than why to hell to choose a HP elliptical canopy designed for swooping and flying high wing loads? If its PD and PD only why not sticking to Sabre2, Pulse or Storm? They open better and those could be right on the performance envelope.

I do pack for others and I always leave the pin flap open to give them a chance to check their pin and PC before they put the gear on.
-
What wrong message? Supervise yourself Check your gear before you get it on Behave if you have gear on Stay calm and move as less as needed on the plane Do a quick check before exit Ask help if needed Keep on eye on other's gear Use common sense
-
As I told I check those when I get my gear on. Anyway an elephant would kill you if it would jump on you from a tree..... Its nothing about real skydivers. If you want to run 3 rounds around the airplane, because it give you luck and soft opening I say go ahead. If you try to push me to do it than piss off. I real skydiver can decide if a pin check is needed.
-
Other people have thought the same thing and been wrong. As I said before, you're never too good to not request a pin check. Despite your best efforts, things can happen on the ride to altitude that you may not be aware of. For your sake, I just hope that should anything like that happen to you, it doesn't kill you. That should work, because you scream yooyoo to scare the invisible elephants away from the trees. Have you seen any invisible elephant on the trees? See? It is _working_ perfectly. If you can not jump without someone else blessing that is your private problem. I do every check before getting my gear on. I do ask for a pin check if I have a 2nd though. I keep my eyes open and tell if I see something usual. I can check you if you ask it so. Anyway: mind your own business.

Indeed you don't need a big formation for that. I got a collision from a 3(5)way. It was my fault to descent into someone in the formation. I got a hit from behind my head and she got a hit on the collar bone and on the hip. Both did not know what has happened before we landed. I got a little black out and lost my crappy helmet, she got some bruises. I was so surprised that i had no trouble see without any eye protection. I think I have learnt my lesson: keep my eyes open and avoid target fixation.

Sure, I was an excellent choice 15-20 years ago. Get a used ZP canopy unless your are in accuracy. Those fly and land lot better.
