You are wrong. Packing fast does not mean that would be careless. No. I'm not wrong. There isnt a professional packer on earth that will pack MY rig with as much care and attention to detail as I use when I pack MY rig. This belief is supported 100% by the % of less than perfect openings I experience when its been packed by a packer compared to when I pack it myself. Also, "not packed half as carefully" is not the same thing as "careless" Your choice: your money vs your time and efforts. I don't have to pack. I can pack if i want to and if I'm asked so.

If you can not recognize a type of wing you got a problem. A glider has a fixed and solid wing. You fly an airfoil. Can you see any difference???

Scirocco - new x-braced main by Skylark

Are you starting a counting war? -
That is a known problem if you have less than 5 sec delay. I have switched to Neptune and I'm happy with that.

Line twists with FX and Wings with "birdman option"
phoenixlpr replied to bofh's topic in Gear and Rigging
Is your FX a tight or a loose pack in your container? -
If you don't trust them to do those basic packing tasks, how can you trust them to pack the rest of the chute? Agreed....all are part of packing....whats next...not running the lines and missing things like a step through?? get paid to pack...then do all the steps necessary to pack. Well, if you don't like the policy you are welcome to pack for yourself.

Not bad advice. Some cock-eyed packers can't or won't do it as part of the pack job....as evidenced by this thread. To the OP: Somebody was watching out for you, I believe, I don't do it either. Its my insurance that my clients get a decent pack job and/or no complaints about those things. Although I do check those, and even leave the main flap open to force them to check pin and PC.

Balance your body, stay even in the harness, hands off the risers.
-
Than how do you know that is kill-line PC?

There is some trouble around. I've uploaded some, but it was not processed properly.

Are you a robot or do you have an instrument panel for flying a canopy? Speed, trim and angle is subjective under a canopy. You do not need speed and you suppose to fly by your senses.

I have a Tri160 and I've ordered Dacron lines for that. The change was not noticeable. I'd rather have more durable/more elastic lines.

I have a Tri160. Its a life saving device. It opens soft and nice, but a bit boring for me @ WL 1.5 .

New Canopy - Sub-terminal or Terminal First Use?
phoenixlpr replied to jim_32766's topic in Gear and Rigging
This is a valid question. I read some instruction in some Performance Variable/ (Fly?)FireBird's canopies because the fabric is still streching by use to the final shape or whatever... I have not read about that thin in any canopy manual. I'd just go ahead and jump them and start with having someing 8-10sec delay on some high opening(1500m+). -
If you think that would be the right quality control you are a bit naive.

This weekend is Pimp my fly in Hanko. I come in August...

Dude - THAT was bad advice. I jumped a borrowed Velocity 111 yesterday and I now have a broken tib/fib to show for it. My bad man, I meant to say it has to be sub 100. That 111 probably flared like a shit brickhouse. I'd rather say it was a piloting error.

Anyone flying in Gryttjom, Sweden? I seem to spend to spend some time there in this fall.

Sorry, You just don't get it.

The best audible is the Optima, best logbook is Neptune. Neptune is better logbook and visual altimeter than ProTrack or Viso, but not as good audible as Optima. ProTrack does not log 120sec freefall and a bitch to dig out data from. Neptune eats more battery, but that is commonly available (CR2450), Optima uses CR2325 which is available from some places and ProTrack uses CR2335 which is rare but you need once/1-2 years only. It can be a hard choice, but you can easily sell any of those later.

People might be subjective. Can you tell if you fall %3 faster? Can you tell if you exit 50m lower?
-
Your canopy scale, but your body don't. So bigger canopies have better glide on the same WL.
