So It seems with Twin Otter you don't have to stop the healthy engine on landing because of the asymmetric thrust. Lucky you!
-
I was told that after the first engine failed the other takes you to the crashsite of your choice.

NEVER let the toggles up if you flare high!!!! (pics)

Been there, Done that. "If you don't have it in your head, you are going to have it in your leg....." -
We should ask those dead skydivers who shared the same opinion before theyve gone.

When I was a student I did not know the concept of wing loading. I was jumping any gear given by my instructor. It was so simple :).

Gearing up before getting in (was: Tandem Fatality)

Thanks for clearing up this urban legend! -
It's much easier for a student to learn WL than a proper flare :P.
-
I'm sorry about your leg. I have the same kindda patchwork on both sides too. There is a saying: "If you dont have it on your head, you are going to have in your leg." Trust me, your WL was right for your experience. What have you done? What canopy have you used?
-
Easier? I do remeber she was a bitch to bag.
-
How about the SpaceShuttle? It flies like a brick too, it can be landed.
-
How do you mean physically? Do you mean visually?

Collapsing a canopy after landing.

Come on! I had more trouble with big canopies like 200-280 sqft. I had much less fight with my 150sqft main. It's not a big trick and no RSL involved... Pull one break down-down and down after you landed and run behind the canopy. Keep in mind no tension - no drag. -
Ok. I would not want to post or publish my data to 3rd party or depend on a 3rd party.
-
That's nice. If I would be a rigger I would not want any 3rd party own my data or stand between me and my data.
-
Sure, or you may use your pen and a logbook/workbook.
-
How much ram is there in your computer? Trust me there is enough sand around for all of us. I donno the use cases of this problem. I rather define an xml dialect and we could have a common base.
-
I was thinking about a mozilla/firebird extension/application. It could be portable and you may backup your logs to some network server. I would keep it free :).

getting jump number up. how often do you jump?
phoenixlpr replied to arai's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm running for WS too. Limits: min 250 jumps and min 2 hours of freefall. I do know that I can't hit 2 hours FF with 250 pcs 1000m jumps...... I think there's always place for a 1000m jumps if I don't have any other plane. Come on! Some ppl stay gound if they can't go for 2000,3000 or 4000m, because if weather or other things. That's boring. Anything is better than sit and wait on weather or on others. -
Sure. Good example of the AFF ground rush. :)
-
I'd rather vore for java and some backend, but I donno what you need.
-
Yeah, If you pack ....., but they might not in deployment. :)
-
Tatoo? Come on! A post surgery scar and implanted metal plates and screws. That might tell something about deep love.
-
I'd rather use some java based solution for that, but I'm not a rigger.
-
It sounds like a reasonable idea. We could make something nice.

Yeah, and you didn't narrow down is that body or canopy flight.
