  1. It was a Pilot150 ~ WL 1.4+ from a 90 degrees front riser turn and in 90 degrees side wind. I do know well that canopy is not for swooping. I had 14 jumps before this weekend and my other gear with the Cobalt is in assembly. I'm about to learn how to land with rears. that was my 2nd try on land rears, I had to run on my first.
  2. Have I got it right? Set the AoA and release rears gently and go to toggles in some seconds? Thanks!
  3. Thanks. I try to make sure that someone will catch my next try too.
  4. Its just a question of offer and demand. You don't have to work at any DZ and if the DZO can find a pilot he/she might rise his/her offer.
  5. Why do you need rolling? If you have a good wrap and you keep it, not letting it undone, you got a clean packjob and with using reverse S you can put it easily in. Check my link with pictures.
  6. What do you mean by neat and clean?
  7. Thanks. I had the same feeling too. I got really lucky to have it on video.
  8. I got my first try. Can anyone tell me what was the reason that felt no lift after transfer? Was it too late?
  9. Not much. You can not learn packing from a book. Check this, you might get some ideas.
  10. Tribalism??? You missed the religious war. So what have you tried? Anyway. Wolmari pack does not include rolling. It has just a small differenc from ProPack: "ears" are folded over and not under. Wolmari pack with reserve S bagging can make your life easier. Do it like this!
  11. I still don't know what is the issue. If its not broken why to fix it? Look the manual they have created even a way to misuse the improved version.
  12. I think no. Or if yes, you would have been dead already. Was the strap routed right?
  13. Notice that packing is a religion. There are easier way to bag a canopy than one is though for students. This is my way.
  14. This is a bit twisted. I would not say it is banned, but at least the maximum allowed rotation for common loads is controlled. It sounds reasonable.
  15. It does not make sense. Both are serial, but for different purpose. LANC is a low speed serial interface for remote control only. It could be just a wired IR protocol. ITs cheap to implement a LANC device. Firewire is a high speed protocol for data exchange. It requires more expensive hardware. Although Sony might not provide LAND on cheaper devices.
  16. I have not packing tabs on my 150, 135 size canopy, so pro pack only. I have not flat packed even student canopies for 3 years. Last Friday I was seriously thinking about to flat pack a PD 260, but I was too lazy to even start it that way.
  17. Nothing is wrong with that. Where is the problem if you just carry on just switch on on the ground?
  18. Are you going to jump with a mobile phone in 1 inch proximity?
  19. Search this forum for bullet cam! Surprise!
  20. Cameye is not a simple switch. Its a microcontroller design implementing the LANC protocol. If someone know the (new) codes and willing to make one for you....
  21. No doubt about that. Look the other aspect, if you don't have any visual reference how do you know how good you can track e.g RW jump? A cliff can be a quite solid point of reference for tracking.
  22. Please release the pressure and the CAPS LOCK! Thanks.
  23. I'm happy that at least you got my point.
  24. Do you also have a petition for common sense and wise decisions?
