You must have some problem with your packing procedures. I cock my PC after I set my brakes. I check or cock my PC before bagging canopy. I check or recock my PC when I put the D-bag to the pack tray. I check the PC when I insert my pin.

It does not sound healthy. Its better to watch from the ground than being a part of it.

How to mount a dytter to the outside of a Z1??
phoenixlpr replied to Chris-Ottawa's topic in Gear and Rigging
ROFL. Just had to comment about that - thats the first time I've heard that expression - "combat RW". really made me chuckle How would you call if you might loose some teeth on exit? -
I would not call our TMs as "enthusiastic amateurs", but they use frap hats only, even our tandem examiner too.
-
No yet. After your AFF it could be ok.

I checked eBay yesterday for rigs. There was nothing out there, just overpriced or really old stuff. I have bought my Javelin on eBay anyway.
-
I had 1 jump with a PD190. I did not like it. I guess you might have 6 years maximum with it. I hope you had not paid much for that.
-
So, you can even use it safely :).

What is your exit weight?
-
Why have you bought it? Why do you want to sell it now?
-
Who is coming?

26-28" is the ususal kill line PC. 24" would be enough on a 150 sqft or smaller. I have a 36" F111 kill line on my other rig.

airport security opens reserve
phoenixlpr replied to browncow's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
First question is why... An AAD can make it suspicious, but you suppose to have your cypress card. Has anyone's reserve ever been opened by airport security? -
Worth repeating... ??? No pain, no gain. I've seen the Mr Bill landed video. I would no go so far, ever. I've just changed my mind. I was told as a student that 2 person can land under one canopy safely. Mr Bill landed is the example.

What is the purpose of Secondary Riser Covers?
phoenixlpr replied to 77r's topic in Gear and Rigging
I'm sorry. I've lost somewhere. What to do Duracell with Secondary Riser Covers? Do you use Duracell in your Secondary Riser Covers ??? -
Sad day for the responsible swoopers of this world
phoenixlpr replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
So, this way at least the 50% of the problem is treated. It might be easier to convince or force a significant amount of experienced to fly proper pattern in the traffic, than doing something about the random pattern of the newbies and novices. They might be threatened with mandatory radio control if they don't behave and fly a predictable pattern. -
Well, I hope I have enough for the stunt. What is bigger fun? Being the host or being the guest?
-
How about a nicely, slowly opening smaller?
-
What is the right selection for the MrBill canopy? Smaller ? Bigger? Square? Elliptical?

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
