I got shit scared and landed with a single leg strap on. I was more scared than with having a cut-away.
-
By flying no. I got once one of my legstrap open during freefall/opening.

You should know better. Some people told this story around me. Most of the student equipment is Wings in our club. Wings seems to be the most popular brand here.
-
Uh, the owner/designer of the Wings H/C designed the Javelin (among other things). I have heard that story a bit different. One of the designers of the Sunrise Manufacturing International left the company with his/her design taken with his/herself and founded Sunpath....

It's a real horror. What do you think? Is he going to jump again?

How Superstitious a Skydiver are you?
phoenixlpr replied to Yossarian's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I hate pre-boarding pictures. I had some trouble when I had pre-boarding pictures taken. I hate even more if someone forcing me for being on a pre-boarding picture. I jump anyway any day even on the 13th of Friday. -
What if sewing a little piece specra line on the top of the riser as a "guide ring"? It would not be leaded in normal use anyway.

How much longer will an "expired" AAD still technically function?
phoenixlpr replied to 77r's topic in Gear and Rigging
How long will phoenixlpr play the know it all showoff by putting people's questions down in their posts? [no need to answer - rhetorical question] Why would I ask questions if I know it all??? -
Wow! What a brilliant idea!
-
What is the benefit using this?
-
In what section can I find that? What is the name of the thread?

How long is an aircraft working after its airworthyness certificates expires? -
Not really. I have it stowed. My WS canopy is a Pilot 150, my WL is ~ 1.4+ and I did not gain too much speed from a 90 degree turn.
-
Ask yourself, is that fun worth risking the integrity of your suite? Ok. I did plenty of 90 degrees HS approaches, but I wont do any higher rotations, because of my WS canopy.

phoenixlpr replied to splat200's topic in Gear and Rigging
I had 3 reserve ride on PZ-81 and all were off-airport. It was quite ok except I've busted my tail bone once. -
Spiralling big ol' barge of a canopy

You can guess why tandem master are not using risers for turning thier canopy.... -
Spiralling big ol' barge of a canopy
phoenixlpr replied to Scoop's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You might reach maximum speed of that wing configuration in 6-7 seconds. Speed - lift... so you can not hold it longer. What is the reason that front riser spiral? -

How much time do you need for doing that 270 degrees turn? -
Using a cameye or hypeye with a Sony HC46

It worth reading specs and review before buying. -
Not a whole lot you can do about that. Jumping in the desert... we chuckle at folks who get canopies with white in them or white jumpsuits, both turn "tan" in short order. PD does offer a "canopy wash" on their list of things they'll service, but the consensus seems to be its not recommended to wash a canopy. Anyway, its probably OBE at this point since the orig post is like 2 years old... I've read in some BASE canopy manual, that getting wet or washing is not recommended, bla bla bla one wash equals about the wear of 25 jumps.

You might get it uncocked by fighting with the material.

what do you mean by that?
