    Any old Texas jumpers out there remember when Bill Dause had his DC-3 and the small door Twin Beech based in Hearn, Texas in the early 80s? There ase usually a large turnout on the weekends from all over the state and people camped out on the airport, a boogie atmosphere every time we attended. The first 8 stack in Texas was put together there and personally, was on my first 16 way there, my largest to that date. As a 100 jump wonder then, I was in awe of Bill and his five figure jump number total. What a thrill it was when he would ask you on a load he was organizing not knowing or careing who you were just to get you skydiving. Surprisingly, many of the loads he organized like that were successful. I always hated Sunday evening when jumping at Hearn was over but for the most part, the drive back home with friends was special because we felt like big time skydivers having been on larger loads with a few skygods.

    Wendy, any chance you remember Jim Culhane from old Spaceland? He jumped a Dactyl exclusively and could land that thing just about anywhere he wanted. Inspired me to get a Dactyl of my very own. Another guy that jumped triangle canopies exclusively was Bobby Vee at Coolidge. I can't remember if it was a Delta II or a Dactyl but it hurt to watch him land that thing in that high desert air. His landings consisted of a loud thump and a cloud of dust., The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Don't you hate that? What? Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullshit in order to be comfortable? I don't know. That's a good question. That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Can't remember exactly but isn't there a phenonom related to the Paradactyl about the nose rolling under and causing a situation where steering becomes reversed? The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Nothing but marketing horseshit. Was in Key West 2 weeks ago and saw a sunglasses shop set up in a broken down, abandoned service station with a sign proclaiming they had "The world's best selection of sunglasses." If anyone claims to be world class, world's best or world anything, run away. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Reminds me of landing out back in the PC days. Landed in the yard of a farm about a mile away from the DZ and right after landing two big Dobermans come racing at me growling and snarling. Well, oh shit, what to do? I had a metal rip cord in one hand and my hook knife in the other and planed to beat and slice them to death if needed Guess they saw my implements of death and had second thoughts because they stopped short and just looked at me while I made a quick exit. Crap, was I scared. From then on I tried to stay away from houses if I was landing out. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I have a small farm in Kentucky and you'd think all we raise there is Poisn Ivy since I've gotten it every time I'm out "riding fences" so to speak. The second occurance, I went to the doctor and he gave me a cortizone injection and a course of cortizone pills to take over the next week. After the injection, I could feel the itching and burning starting to lessen immediately and by that evening it didn't even bother me anymore. I urge you to go to the doctor and not suffer needlessy for two weeks. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Got my motorcycle off EBAY but it was local and could check it out in person. No real problems with it and have had it for three years. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Being older than the majority of posters here, I've attended many funerals for relatives, friends, co workers, etc. but the majority of the funerals I've attended in all these years have been for skydivers. Jumping out of an airplane requires a certain amount of rationalization regarding the danger aspect and we tend to get comfortable with that. It needs to be kept in mind that, in reality, skydiving is an irrational act tempered with as much technical and theoretical safety backup as possible. Most of the time it works, sometimes............well.... Skydiving is dangerous no matter how you rationalize it. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Used to be on a demo team with Jerry Rouillard. He told me he did a lot of the stunts for Burt Lancaster. Didn't think to ask him of he wore the wingsuit though. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

I put too much time into rebuilding / restoring it to let anybody mess with it. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Blahh I had a pulled pork sandwhich there and it was terrible. I was was even super hung over and it was still terrible. I did however have a great time watching the superbowl down in the Gaslamp district.....TJ was interesting as well Pork is not BBQ!!! The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    In Grand Cayman, scuba or if you dont scuba, take the snorkel tour to Stingray City or just hang at Seven Mile Beach, it's beautiful. In Cozumel, if you don't scuba, rent a motorcycle and ride around the island.(BE CAREFUL). Avoid the timeshare hawkers. In Montego Bay, stay on the boat!!!
