    I was notified that the job I hate is being phased out Dec.1. This is great news because aviation in Texas is classified as a depressed industry and I can draw maximum unemployment for a year. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I generally try to do the "right" thing unless I'm on I-55 from West Memphis to St. Louis then, because the excessive amount of truck traffic has reduced the right lane to an undriveable pile of concrete chunks, I drive in the smoother left lane unless someone needs to pass me. I do place a certain value on the structural integrity my car and motorcycle. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I remember, believe it or not, having that feeling on my 5th static line jump, that feeling of what the Hell am I doing, I must be crazy putting myself through this. I was scared almost to the point of telling my jumpmaster to let me ride down with the plane. I just nutted up, did the jump, and was damn happy I did when I got down. I think those feelings kept creeping back, somewhat, until jump 19 and after that I felt pretty confident that if I did everything my instructors had taught me, the chances were very high of me being OK. Well, on jump 25, my faith was rewarded by having a malfunction, cutaway and a successful reserve ride. Didn't much worry about it so much after that because everything seemed clear as day during the cutaway and the emergency proceedures my instructors pounded into my brain worked exactly as advertised. Just go jump!!! The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Sorry about your getting layed off Ivan, that sucks and I have first hand knowledge of how much. Was informed Friday that my services will no longer be required after Dec. 1 so I guess we're in the same boat employmnet wise. Not that big of a deal with me though as I was contemplating hanging it up for good anyway and it just made the decision for me. I know ya'll don't believe this but there are certain benefits to being older . Edited to add: Sorry Ivan but this will probably kill your thread. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Hey mikkey, I just got through watching and that was a great game. I'm in Texas and not being very familiar with the teams involved and only having learned the "laws of the game" somewhat about a month ago I was able to follow the action pretty well. The team I was pulling for, Port Adelaide, won. I've watched AFL several times before but don't remember there being as much fighting as was involved in that match. I thought it rather funny that two guys are squared off beating the shit out of each other while the game just goes on around them like nothing out of the ordinary is happening. Aussie Rules rocks.     Yes!!! I sit at my desk with a fan running all day to stay comfortable and the lady in the same office sits at her desk all day with a space heater running under her desk. My experience has, for the most part been that when men are comfortable, women are cold and vice versa. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Don't go up again without earplugs!!! Earplugs should be part of your equipment same as an altimeter, gloves, etc. Hearing protection should be required to be taught in first jump courses just like emergency proceedures. Damn, will sombody answer that phone? Whaddya mean it's not ringing, it rings all the Godamn time. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

I've been snacking on organic soy yogurt. I'm doing what I can." So how are you liking the meatless cold cuts?
