    Dennis was on my first four way and it was at Seagoville in about 1978. Oddly enough, I was his tandem examiner and got him his Strong rating back in 1991 or so. Goddammit Dennis, you still haven't sent me copies of your logbook entries proving that you were qualified for the rating. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Made my first jump at Seagoville many, many years ago. While riding my motorcycle a couple of months ago, I stopped by the old Seagoville DZ and except for the lack of any kind of aviation/skydiving activity and the total lack of humanity, nothing at all has changed. It's like a scene out of the Twilight Zone with all the same old junk cars, the same garbage dump, the same pile of scrap lumber we used to call a manifest shack and the same old piles of dogshit still where they were when it all closed down 15 years ago. What a wonderful place to skydive. Edited to add: The water was even more hazardous for skydiving during duck hunting season. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    The same thing its had on it for the last five years. After Christmas, I just take the artificial tree with lights, tinsel, balls, etc and move it to the closet in the garage. The next Christmes, I move the fully decorated tree back to the same spot as last year. HO HO HO, Merry Christmas. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    The Dead Goat Saloon is good for live music and is downtown at 119 South West Temple St. The Cotton Bottom Club, kind of a "beer joint" out by Cottonwood Canyon. makes great garlic burgers. Go with someone you love or someone who has lost all olfactory senses. If nothing else, blow off your meetings and go snow boarding. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Got to work this morning and found out that a friend who I've known for 30 years was killed in that Gulfstream III crash in Houston this morning. About an hour after that, my wife called me and told me that her mother has just been diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. Damn The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    The thing I remember most about the Thunderbolt jumpsiut, besides how enormous the wing area was, is how heavy it was. Man, with all the layers of sewn on stripes, the weight of the thing almost equaled the weight of my rig. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Slappie, this Chinese reigious crackpot guy picture just cries for some caption related to "Daniel in the Lion's Den" but damned if I can think of one just now.     No, not a layoff from skydiving, I got notified two weeks ago that my job is being eliminated Dec. 1. Got on monster.com and sent a resume to another company in the same industry a week ago. The company I sent the resume to called me yesterday to interview and I just now got a call that I'm hired at almost twice the $$$$ and it was fairly considerable, that I was making!!!!!! All that happend in three weeks. All that happened at 59 years old when I thought I was sunk employment wise. Life's fuckin' GREAT!!!! The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    IIRC, Rambo jumped from a Israli Aircraft Corporation Jet Commander. The wing on this aircraft is mounted midway between the bottom and top of the fuselage behind the door. When I saw the movie, I thought it would be possible, if a person dove from the aircraft crouched low enough in the door and with the aircraft slowed just above stall point, it would be possible but not advisable, to clear the wing and engines. That said, IIRC, Rambo static lined out of the aircraft and I thought that was just bullshit and not really doable. Just to prove this point, he initially got hung up in the static line and had to cut himself loose with his big, hairy Rambo saw tooth knife. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Although I'm glad Boston finally won a World Series, it was pretty dissapointing from a drama standpoint. Was hoping it would at least go to six games and have Boston win at home. Can't believe St. Louis just layed down like they did. Also can't believe that professional athletes, on both teams, put on such an amature show with all the fielding errors, base running screw ups and total lack of hitting on St. Louis' part. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I just realized that Dr. John Peel was a DJ on radio station WRR in Dallas in 1961. He went by the name of John Ravenscroft and co hosted a blues show called Kats Karavan. He was highly a highly sought after consultant to most rock and roll radio stations in Dallas when the Beatles became a big thing here due to his "Britishness". Man, that guy was around for donkey's years. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
