Boys, boys! Do we have to make you sit in the corner without your graham cracker snack? I tried HD yesterday with a coach. We did 2 cartwheels and one 3601 LOL! We gave it up and went to our sit. We'll try again! QUESTION is it generally better to launch it(cessna DZ) or sit and transition from there?

I jump either Saturday or Sunday afternoon and ride Harleys with my buds on the days (Sat/Sun) I don't jump. I usually jump on Wednesday nights and 1-2 times during the week if a tandem or student comes out.

Other flying people's description of skydivers

I've been called meatbomb by other skydivers! LOL Why is everyone starting to be so sensitive? -
can a big guy skydive safely?
StevePhelps replied to justin84's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hey Kris! You gave me a few IAD jumps at Cushing before I switched to AFF at Lloyd's place in Skiatook. I too am an anvil. In fact Keith (head anvil) gave me his old jump suit. I'm 5' 10" and 225-235 (depending on the season). I fall like a rock, but enjoy it all. Justin, my suggestion is the same as everyone else's. Your DZO should have a proper rig to train on -- and when you are trained - contact me-- I'll sell you my container w/ Raven3. That'll hold you! Once while jumping IAD at Cushing they had another big boy, so he got the Manta and I got a Tandem rig! -
Tarnished from student status??

Don't want to tick you off, but if all that bothers you why the website called www.wrongway.com? And why use that handle with your post? At first glance it seems you have been perpetuating the problem (to some degree). Maybe I'm wrong -- just a thought. -
YEah, that is what I'm looking for -- Thanks

Anyone know where you can buy the new protrack cover? I have the clip and zip tie it on, but would like to protect the outer cover.

I'm envious! My SIT is usually 165mph! I'm a human anvil! MOst people fly head down to keep up. My legs are spread wide too.

Freeflying. Is it "the death of skydiving"?
StevePhelps replied to psychoswooper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I made a similar statement to my DZO a few weeks back and boy did it get his goat! Actually, I was simply trying to start a conversation. Boy did I! I told him the younger generation is a ll about extreme. I pointed him to the primary audience of the X games (Average age 20-25) "You gotta learn RW to fly camera, coach and be a AFF JM!" HE screamed. Well, maybe, maybe not. It may take a while, but my bet is skydiving will be as different in 5 years as today is different than 40 years ago. We'll see! -
That rollercoaster feeling ...
StevePhelps replied to canopycandy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Most likely it was adrenyline (perhaps on an empty stomach) that made you sick. Eat a little before the your next jump and let us know how you did. They make a non-drowsey dramamine -
Special Ops has a team too.
-
Speaking as an ex- Green Beret. Static line and HALO are merely one of many methods of infiltration. Skydiving ... now that's FUN!
-
You bet I do! Wait can Christians bet?

Has anyone seen this before?
StevePhelps replied to davelepka's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I agree -- I come to the DZ to enjoy life. I let no one rob me of that joy, even if they are a butthead. -
For me. I use to get sick under canopy spins (from not eating and/or adrenyline rush). I sue to take non-drowsy dramamine for 40+ jumps then one day I forgot the dramamine and I had no problems. I now seldom use dramamine (1 02 in last 200 jumps) and have no problem. I guess needed a chance to get my body use to it. (like Yeager did with the jet pilot) Take a little dramamine for a while and have fun!

Sounds a little like my friend Jim Rice. I bought his old rig. He was rendered a quadraplegic (auto accident) years ago. A frequent skydiver before that, Jim longed for the sky. He made a tandem with no problems and dreams of doing a solo one day. (He says he would land purposely in the water (with a floatation device). Sounds crazy, but Jim may pull it off one day.

I appreciate the info. Right now I can see out of it, but it is all blurry. I go to the retinal specialist Monday. Some of the chances of correction depends on what veins are occluded. On one part of the eye, no chance, on another it may be corrected to 20/40. I'll be praying for a miracle!

I agree -- give me the Terminator any day over Hillary and the likes of her crew. -
I wrote an article for ENRICHMENT magazine how churches were like DZs. Some like 'em small & intimate, others like them big with a lot of things going on. Everyone thinks their disciple is the best (freefly, RW, accuracy). Those very words describe many church's philosophies, Accurate, Free, Relative. The list goes on...
