  1. Don't get me wrong - I love cartoons! Pixar movies are hilarious! Shrek, Mosters Inc, Cars, the best damn movies ever. I don't know what they were thinking when they let Jerry make his own pixar movie. It's like he took a few old tired Lawyer jokes from his standup routine and built a movie around it. =========Shaun ==========
  2. I'm sure it would work, but my gut reaction is to avoid it. What does the Reserve canopy manufacturer say? Something tells me that you arn't going to see that in a manual anywhere... =========Shaun ==========
  3. I spent a few years packing tandems at WFFC. I loved it. The TM's were really competitive for the loads, and being loyal to one TM and taking care of him usually meant good news for me$$$. Anyways, there were 2 TM's (I'll omit the names) Using absolute Gutter gear. I mean, the old PD 9-cell F1-11 canopies, so out of trim that they had at least one cutaway per year. I watched on TM consistently smash in like on the video. It bothered me that people saw that as acceptable. =========Shaun ==========
  4. Come on Jerry, come on Pixar. You all could have done so much better. I used to think you were funny, but not anymore. Remember the ol' literary Character Intro, Rising action, climax, falling action, yadda yadda yadda. I think Jerry is hopped up on caffiene because I counted like 6 sub plots and nothing else. I was confused. "GO BLACK AND YELLOW!!! HELLO!! [/shaking my head] =========Shaun ==========
  5. I was running almost everyday without really any result. I just wanted to lose about 15 pounds. (I was 190, I wanted to be 175 - I'm 6'1") Anyways, I bought a roadbike and started biking everywhere. I noticed a difference in about one month. I dropped 5 lbs last months - GOOD START! =========Shaun ==========
  6. Quote You got that right! *** HOLY CRAP, IT POSTED!! I thought Artur was just one of those eternal lurkers!! =========Shaun ==========
  7. I'm a college Kid on Work Study. I don't owe, I don't get a refund. I'm cool with that. =========Shaun ==========
  8. I am more of a fan of the Sugar free Rockstar. Lots of Vitamin B. I like that. I guzzle maybe 2 or three a week, but it depends on my mood. =========Shaun ==========
  9. 0:2:1 Two jumps on my new rig!!! =========Shaun ==========
  10. There are some stoopid people out there who, for some reason or another, manage to find themselves jobs where the are presented with opportunities to screw up royally. I hope he runs our of unemployment benefits fast! =========Shaun ==========
  11. It's all cool bro. Trust me, Aerodyne is doing the best they can. It's worth the wait.
  12. I ride my bike everywhere cuz I can't afford gas half the time. I need to get a Sam's Choice water bottle rack for my bike, but that's also out of my price range. I think I'll just mooch some duck tape from the DZ and make a bottle rack out of that. =========Shaun ==========
  13. Thanks Jumper Troy. It'll be good to see you and the other half out there. So who else is making plans to be there? =========Shaun ==========
  14. My friend, I think you are right. I've bought a few new rigs, and other than my first one, I've never gone gungho on the options - So my comments were more of a knee-jerk reaction to the base price. However, with their Element line, I think they are hitting the broad spectrum of the market. =========Shaun ==========
  15. Holy Cow - I think we post on all the same threads. Great minds think alike. I'm pretty sure We'll get some response. Michael and Aubrey (Our star Students / Newly licensed jumpers) are in contact and doing a great job. So far, we should have demo stuff from Jumpshack, Aerodyne, and (knock on wood) Mirage. It's amazing how many jumpers at our DZ use Aerodyne canopies or Containers. Don't you have an Itty-bitty Thing already? =========Shaun ==========
  16. They are good people. They helped our club with 5-some reserves, I've seen them go above and beyond the call of duty on customer service, and they make a good product. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy one of their products. We used to be a "PD" dropzone, but now so many of our jumpers have bought Pilots and Smart reserves that I think the tides have changed! Just out of our Core staff, I think about 40% use aerodyne products in one form or another. I've always been loyal to Jumpshack - but last week an Aerodyne Sponsored I.E. I met at a boogie/AFF Course let me take up a few of his Pilot's and Icon harnesses. I was impressed. My only concern with the Icon was the seemily steep price, but I just heard about their "Elements" that they sell. Right now we are crossing our fingers that Karl or one of their crew can make it to our DZ's First big turbine boogie. If not, then we have a newly licensed jumper who is in contact trying to get help with some demo gear.
  17. When I'm up rigging all day, I usually eat those little lunchable things. You know, with a little stack of cheese and a little stack of ham and 5 crackers. I would buy a Coke, but I can't afford that. I go with Sam's Choice. =========Shaun ==========
  18. Happy happy happy birthday!!!!! Whoohoo!!! =========Shaun ==========
  19. Man, Musta been a hungry little bastard.. =========Shaun ==========
  20. I think a H&P is much easier on SL progression. First H&P is from same altitude (3,500 - 4,000'), same pull procedures, same count, same everything as your PRCP's (Practice Rip cord pulls). You are cleared for your first H&P only after 3 successfull PRCP's. The last PRCP needs to be damn near perfect and on the same day, just like Airtwardo pointed out. =========Shaun ==========
  21. Eng Phys one was brutal, but I made it through just fine - stumbling, but fine. Eng Phys II isn't really taught FOR the student - that's pretty clear. It is usually taken by Students just as the enter the college of Engineering (or in my case, before you graduate because I've put it off) as a way to weed out those without the study skills to make it. I have taken very few courses, even graduate level courses, as tough as it. Not that the material is hard, per say, but more because they make it hard. Calculus Proofs on exams, brutal grading, about 3 hours of HW an evening, daily quizes, et cetera. It's just one of those courses that consumes you. I think every major has a course or a professor or two like that. I was up til 6, crashed on the couch til 10, and now I'm in class. I have about 2 hours to review, we'll see how it goes. =========Shaun ==========
  22. I second that motion!!! =========Shaun ==========
  23. Oh Oh oh I know this one! The First Poynter's Manual and the Old FAA Senior Rigger exam question!! Pilot chute should be about 3% the Surface area of the canopy. Oh, Wait. That information is a little old. So, when did people start jumping these new-fangled squares??? =========Shaun ==========
  24. BTW did you punch your advisor in the face? I would have. =========Shaun ==========
  25. I'd love a B. I got a nice big B in EP1, and I think if I hold where I am now with a little improvement in lab I'll get a B in EPII. Man, it sucks! I was in the Library until 6:30 this morning, then I came home, skipped my AM classes, and took a 3 hr power nap. On the last exam Dr. Law (you had him, right?) threw so many curve balls and I was grateful to stagger out with a 60-something. =========Shaun ==========
