Ouch. I'm Sorry, but, I mean, you WERE laying in bed, naked, soldering a computer cable. =========Shaun ==========

It should be changed for me. "I Got Big Nuts, and I cannot Lie" would be more approprite. =========Shaun ==========

Do extremely religious people piss you off?
Unstable replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Speakers Corner
I take it with a grain of salt. That's my motto in life. Yes, I agree that people trying to push their views on you can be annoying. I don't care much for it too. (That's probably why I was a lousy Missionary...). Eitherway, on the other hand, I've seen too many hyper-sensitive people get offended and think people are trying to push religion on them when they simply are just trying to live their own beliefs. Either way, I'm happy for you that you feel that way, just make sure the problem is with them, and not with you. =========Shaun ========== -
0:7:0 GREAT weekend. I jumped at ACDZ for 2 jumps on Wednesday and 5 jump at KSUPC on Saturday AM. I was the only Instructor so I kept pretty busy taking students up on SL jumps. = ) =========Shaun ==========

I'd buy one. I think it'd be hilarious if on the ride up, Every question the student asks, to look nervous, pull out the book, read for a minute or so, then answer. =========Shaun ==========

I'm not a T/I Yet, but I've Inspected and packed reserves on all types of Tandem Rigs except the Eclipse. My choice would be the Racer Tandem system. To me, it just seems like the obvious Choice. I'm not saying that to blow smoke or because I'm a Racer Fan myself, but each version of Tandem rig just has it's own unique set of limiting factors. Dual Hawk - Rugged as hell. This would be my second choice. My only grievence is the limitations the company puts into effect. Only Cypres Approved, and nothing else goes in there but a SET. While I hear nothing but good things about the SET's openings, It's an canopy where the competition has surpassed it long ago. Sigma - Amazing system, but honestly, the limiting factor is the buy price. While I agree that it is the best designed system, I just don't see it worth the $ Racer Tandem - The only Major limiting factor I see here is people in this area who are Racer Certified. =========Shaun ==========

Yeah man, I can't say that I sympathize with you. Ask to speak with Karl at Aerodyne. I've ordered some 6+ reserve canopies from him as well as lots of little parts, and he's always taken care of me. I agree with the other poster, just call them.

Hmm, that sounds kinda fishy. How were they removing it? Hell, any AAD if a young rigglet starts tugging on the cables just right, any connection is going to break... I like the Case milled from a Solid Billet of Aluminium. I've known two seperate instances where a Cypres case has been cracked by forces acting on the reserve container.... =========Shaun ==========

I have one - and I couldn't be happier. It's well made, strong, excellent software, and the best bang for your buck. I would recommend it over Vigil or even (*gasp*) Cypres anyday. When I invested, I asked to see their quality control and testing data. (I'm an Engineer, so sue me) and to my suprise, they gave it to me. Those boys and girls did their homework, that is a well engineered product. =========Shaun ==========

Hell, on another note, it doesn't take ME any more work, time or effort to Inspect, repack, and ready a reserve for a 180 day cycle than a 120 day cycle. Either way, your post just brought up a good point. I should just charge my customers 2 or 3 jump tickets, and let the dropzone I'm at dictate the price...

In bad economy, life is good for the repo man
Unstable replied to marcandalysse's topic in Speakers Corner
Sounds like a good, honest line of work. I'd carry more than just a knife though... =========Shaun ========== -
Sounds to me like the people who origonally complained about this are just a little self-conscious themselves? Hmm, I wish those complaint letters included the weight of the writer. Sorry, but on a more serious note - I think Wall-E was just every bit as good as anything else Pixar has ever put out. The Chef in Ratatouili Was a fatso, nobody complained about that, and all he did was cook and eat!!! =========Shaun ==========

It's weird - and I can't really put my finger on it. Something about an emotional fight and the relief of it being over that....just....well, you know. =========Shaun ==========

CYPRES vs. VIGIL I do not which one to choose ...
Unstable replied to maLUCo's topic in Gear and Rigging
Alright Gang - I'm not trying to be the late-comer raising issues, but If you are seriously considering an AAD, you should include the Argus into your decision making process. It has it's own set of pro's and Con's, unique to itself, and is just as reliable of an aad as either of the two. -
Man, that really bothers me to hear that shit in our community. At the boogie, I left out my rig, camera, check book, hell, almost everybody did. When you catch the guy I hope you give him a good, swift kick in the balls. =========Shaun ==========

I dunno yet - I'm thinking about going to $50-55 then (I currently charge $45 for a basic A.I.R. for a Sport (not student) rig). I guess I would also need to keep in mind that while a good, responsible jumper would keep his gear safe and clean for the entire 180 day cycle, most jumpers, won't. I'll probably increase my services as well to include basic repairs and more detailed maintenance that many don't include in the basic A.I.R. =========Shaun ==========

Oldest sport reserve still in production?
Unstable replied to riggerrob's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I packed a couple of them just a week or so ago. Manufactured in 2004 - went straight into a Strong 304 seat.... Seemed like a really good, solid reserve... =========Shaun ========== -
I'm all for tights as long as it shows the form - but if not, bare is always good.

I would absolutly love to see you as Jens Passenger, walking to the Otter at Couch Freaks with Jen, and the rig, along for the ride. The double-takes would be priceless. =========Shaun ==========

Yup - I bought a 2-pin Argus from him and he really did a good job helping me out. I've recommended him to several jumpers at our dropzone who in turn, purchased gear from him. I would recommend him 100%. =========Shaun ==========
