  1. Now I'm confused. Does that mean an MDV canopy wouldn't be good for low stuff (200 feet or lower)?? For that I'd need just vents alone and no valves? www.motavi.com
  2. Van Disel is a BASE jumper? www.motavi.com
  3. I had the same experience when I was jumping a PD 190. Someone was telling me it's because your body goes faster than the canopy? I'm not too sure of that. I was freaking out! Luckily I got out of the line twists pretty quick.
  4. Ok guys, so you know who to call on your next trip to Malaysia! Discos, good food, hotel arrangements, a place to stay? I can do!
  5. "What I'd really suggest is grabbing some of the jumpers who pass through (there are many, many of them who pass through your hometown every year, even when events aren't scheduled) and learning as much as you can from each of them, in the time they are around" How do I get in touch with the guys that pass through here? I mean, when events aren't scheduled? Thanks for the help
  6. I might get flamed again but here goes: What if you're in a country where there are zero or a handful of BASE jumpers who don't have that much experience? What if there are a couple of BASE jumpers, but don't want to let you groundcrew? What if you're in a far corner of the globe and can't afford to go to the US for a FJC? Asia comes to mind. I wonder if there is anyone else with these kind of obstacles? Peace. Matthew www.motavi.com
  7. I don't think those cameras have a firewire port... IMHO Sony's rock! I have dropped it and treated it like s$#@ and it still works fine. Get a Sony. www.motavi.com
  8. I must say that the engines aren't as powerful as the ones in Orlando Skyventure. You can't really get headdown in there and I have trouble with a sit fly as I feel the engines aren't going strong enough to 'hold' me. I always tell the guys to put the engines to maximum but still feel that it is still a little weak for me. Other than that, it's a great tunnel, cheap and then you can go to the theme park after that or go gamble! PM me if anyone of you are heading down here. I'll be more than happy to assist you guys anyway I can.
  9. How many people coming and for how many minutes per person? www.motavi.com
  10. There is cheap accomodation nearby ranging from US$20 and above per night. Weather here is a little wet, but sunny most days
  11. Wow. I've read so much about this guy although I've never seen any of his videos. Only 30, so young... www.motavi.com
  12. Yup. That is correct USD$5 per minute. Let me know who's coming!
  13. Hi, I do lots of tunnel here in Malaysia where we have a great Skyventure tunnel. All the instructors are trained in Orlando Skyventure. In response to your questions: 1)That really depends on you guys, although when you are having fun in the tunnel time does go quick! Dunno what it is over there, but here in Malaysia it's US$5 per minute and that is with an instructor helping you out. 2)If the instructors are ok with you guys, then they should let you practice. You have to show them that you are safe in the tunnel and can stay in one place all the time. 3)Sorry, nope.. Hope that helps! I found the tunnel helped me a lot, especially countering if I fell over. Learning to fly on your back in the tunnel is really good as well. It's harder than it looks though! Matthew www.motavi.com
  14. I get this problem as well. Some say that my slider is a bit big for my canopy and I have been advised to cut a small hole in the center to bring it down faster after opening. I am worried after a few uses the hole would get bigger and bigger? Anyone any comments? Matthew www.motavi.com
  15. I bought a 0.3 wide angle lens from www.flyers-pit.com Seems allright and you can only zoom in a certain amount before things get all blurry. I find that if I put a UV filter before it, then you get a vignette. Also, I notice that objects seem very rounded...does the diamond do this??? Matthew www.motavi.com
  16. Thanks guys! www.motavi.com
  17. Has anyone tried the Dagger from Vertigo with vents? I curious as to how it opens and flies as compared to a Troll MDV or Fox Vtec. Thanks!

  22. Why are there so many cameras? Won't one videocam and one still cam do the trick? I'm very curious...would you guys cry if you had to cut away the helmet...I know I would! www.motavi.com
  23. How many days was the training? www.motavi.com
