  1. Never did AFF. Just static and lotsa practice in the windtunnel, that helped me tons!!
  2. Thanks for the help, mighty kind of you. I will check all that out. I am using an Acer Aspire with an Intel Celeron and 384MB RAM. Internal is too small, 10 gig only. Checked the port at the back, it says 1334 firewire
  3. If I were to upgrade my laptop to USB 2.0 and plug my external harddisk through there, would that eliminate the problem of dropped frames? Thanks. www.motavi.com
  4. Actually, I am using a pcmcia card to connect to the firewire into the camera. What I think I need to do is hook the external harddisk (a maxtor 120 gig, 7000 speed) to the firewire port on the rear of my laptop. I use an external casing with powersource for my 120 gig harddisk which can also be used to put a DVD drive into. I am not sure if it has a firewire port, but it is USB2.0. If it doesn't have a firewire port what should I do? Thanks. www.motavi.com
  5. I've got a technical question: My laptop has a 1334 (firewire) port and a usb port (usb is not 2.0), my problem is dropped frames when I run the camera into my laptop and then into my external harddisk. Question is, would it be better to plug in my external harddisk into the firewire while plugging in my camera into my USB? Would that cure the dropped frames problem? Or the other way around? I use Adobe Premiere and I even tried Windows Movie Maker, but I still get dropped frames. My external harddisk is USB2.0 (but my laptop is only 1.0). Oh, it's also running at 7000bpm and is 120 gig. Any suggestions/advice? I ask as I want it to be DV format/quality and my internal laptop harddisk is full. Thanks!! Matthew www.motavi.com
  6. What do you mean by lock it down? Once it has been activated it stays that way until you turn it off no? Also with the Sony cams, you need to pull out the viewfinder a little, what's the best way to make sure that the viewfinder doesn't slip back into the camera? I notice that when you put the viewfinder back into the camera, you can't see anything! Thanks for your help
  7. I have a question: when using a Sony cam, does one need to turn on manual focus and focus before flying; turn on infinity or just the normal auto focus thingy?? Thanks!
  8. Was there for a holiday and decided to take my rig along. Didn't know anyone there but everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Ticket prices are reasonable if you buy in lots of 10. They have a skyvan which is great to go up in and go to 13500 feet in about 10 minutes. Highly recommended!
  9. Thanks. So that means that I need to load up Premier first, then plug in my cam and run it through Premier? Then I can edit and all? Matthew www.motavi.com
  10. How about if I am using a Sony PC 3 videocam? Can I use Windows Movie Maker and then import into Adode Premier or I just plug the camera in and load up Premier and run it through that? Thanks for any help!!
  11. I usually take 10 mins per time, but I find that I get bored after 6 mins. 4 mins seems just perfect for me to practice my t-bone, back flys and flips! :) It does get you sore, but once you know how to do a particular movement and relax then it doesn't hurt so much afterward. Tunnel really helped me during freefalls :) www.motavi.com
  12. Thanks Neil, I just sent you an email :) Matt www.motavi.com
  13. Hello All, I'm an enthusiastic BASEr and was wondering if there are any BASE jumpers with whom I could be friends with when I make my trip to UK this year? Don't really know anyone in UK (going for work) and would like to get to know more people. Thanks and Cheerio! Matt www.motavi.com
