Problem with frame grabs from DV video
czechbase replied to czechbase's topic in Photography and Video
Hi all, I have a big problem when I try and do a frame grab from Adobe Premier. The image looks fine on the computer screen, but as soon as I click on file, the image starts to shake. Then when I click export frame, save and open image, the image is blur.. Is it due to my PC3 Sony, perhaps the pixels aren't as many as the newer video cameras or is it because the image is moving too much (like in freeflying)? Strange, as when I pause the frame, the image is really clear and a print screen doesn't work too well either. Thanks for the help in advance. www.motavi.com -
Here in Malaysia the jumpmasters are always behind the students when doing static line. www.motavi.com

Amazing... can we have a look at the video?? www.motavi.com

I think a 0.3 would be great if you are actually in the jump and a 0.4 if you are not. When I was filming an AFF student, I took off all the wide angle lens as I found that the shots are better. Kenko's aren't too bad but they stick out a lot! Especially the 0.42 (I have one) and if that gets hit by a riser and rips off your lens it will be very expensive to repair your camera. www.waycool.com.au have some good lens that are low profile and safe. Mi8 helicopter in operation in Segamat,Malaysia
czechbase replied to czechbase's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hello fellow skydivers, If anyone is in the region for November 22/23, we will be organizing an Mi8 heli for all to jump out of. USD$25 to 10,000 feet in about 12 minutes. We need at least 25 jumpers for this day to happen, with 5 loads minimum. If anyone is interested, please email me at matt@mihrconsult.com for confirmation or further information. Safe swoops, Matthew www.motavi.com -
Sure!

Awesome insight. Thanks Robibird.

It shows up when I watch it on my laptop...would it still show up when viewed on a television screen? www.motavi.com

Very nice. Perhaps you should get a low profile wide angle lens to get rid of the vignette? Other than that, awesome video! www.motavi.com

Yuri shared something interesting with me last night: quicker inflation, faster deployment = unvented zp less oscilliation, better onheading = vented zp I guess it would depend which one was more important. I would say it depends on what kind of object you are jumping and what kind of delay you are going to take. I am still a little confused though...object strike is a big risk...but then again, you'd want fast deployment as well. Which one would you choose if you had a low object with little room to run (say a cliff/building)? Now that I think about it, I was watching some guys from KL Tower and 2 jumpers went off together at the same time. The first jumper deployed and you could see his pilot chute oscilliating to the left where the other jumper was; his canopy opened and bam! The other jumper fell through his open canopy. Luckily there was altitude and the other jumper managed to deploy by about 300 feet.

I got confused. Vented is vented. Got mixed up with apex vented and vented but it all means the same thing. Thanks for the help Tom

Is there such thing as a vented F111 pilot chute? Forgive my ignorance! Also, what's your take on vented apex pilot chutes and how they perform? www.motavi.com

Do ZP, F111 and vented pilot chutes make a difference here? I know that they do and I just would like some explanation in terms of how fast they inflate (resulting in a quicker depoyment). Thanks. www.motavi.com

I'm interested to know what people use to calculate the height of a new object before they jump it. Thanks

Anyone got some pictures of the exit before and after? Thanks. www.motavi.com

Nice cameras! Which one do you use exactly? The S230CV or the or S230CWXR? There are a few... Thanks! www.motavi.com

This function is not available on the PC3.... www.motavi.com

This subject has a lot of views, isn't that interesting. I guess people are curious or don't want to come out of the closet? Just my point of view. Peace. www.motavi.com

Hi Guys, I will try that out. Thanks for the help. www.motavi.com

How do I check if it has that protection going on? But if I were to hook up 2 video players or hook up a video to vcd, I would be able to record it right? I wanted to make a backup copy of my tape on VCD as tape gets mouldy.... www.motavi.com

I have a Sony PC3, does my camera have this function? Also, I found that if I hook up my camera to a VCD player, it can record and capture the footage. I find though, that if I hook up my camera to my VHS player, there is only sound coming out. Footage comes out for a second then turns blank. I am wondering is this because of my VHS player?? Thanks for the help in advance. www.motavi.com

With such a high wing loading, won't that blow the canopy upon opening? www.motavi.com
